Cute small town with lots of historical homes, antique shops, and tourist shops. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday Had limited choices for restaurants. Everything closes early.
It was pretty dead on Sunday at 7:30 during North Texas spring break.

We rode on the historic train ride and got to watch them feed the alligators which we enjoyed, and did the Turning Basin Bayou boat tour and Shaggy our captain was very knowledgeable about the history and made it so interesting. Also went to Lonesome Dove Safari and enjoyed feeding the animals and riding the little train. Also went to the general store and had an ice cream cone and went to the state park and wildlife refuge. We ate dinner at Don Juans Mexican restaurant. Food was great and so was my margaritas! Waitresses were very nice. It was a great weekend trip!

Loved the cleanliness of all the shops.
Loved the cleanliness of all the shops. The town is quaint and I loved the closeness of everything. Getting around was easy. We were very impressed by Busy B Drive thru safari. Definitely worth a trip out to see it.

I like it’s history and beautiful houses.
I like it’s history and beautiful houses. But at this time of year not much is open during the week. But everyone is friendly and helpful.
The BBQ is very good, Roma’s was also.
It is very walkable so you don’t have to worry about parking.

I like the town of Jefferson and have been there several times. I live less than an hour away, so I do not always stay overnight, but when I do, I always stay at the Steamboat Inn. The present owners were new to me, but they could not have been any friendlier or more accommodating. We arrived to find a beautiful fire burning in a firepit in front of the wide front porch (complete with rockers), and we were welcomed and offered cookies and a glass of wine. The room was furnished with antiques including a comfortable bed and a fireplace, Although I don't know if the fireplace was a working fireplace (as we did not use it), it still helped to create a lovely room. The bath was sparkling clean and had a rain shower and a deep antique tub. The breakfast was excellent, and the company of the host, hostess and other guests was a pleasurable start to a fine day. I definitely recommend the Steamboat Inn in Jefferson and hope the present owners will be there for many years to come.

Jefferson is a wonderful town with a lot of history.
Jefferson is a wonderful town with a lot of history. We went to the Jefferson Historical Museum, the General Store, and went through several antique shops. We drove to the town of Karnac, about 20 miles away, and took a tour of Caddo Lake - our guide was great and shared with us a lot of the historical information about the lake and Jefferson area. We ate dinner at McGarity's and lunch at the Bistro next to the General store. Walking is the best way to get around. We also went to the Exselsior Hotel, where a famous long-ago relative of mine had stayed and they have a room named after him and his signature on display. There were several streets closed due to road and drainage repairs, but they were easy to walk around.
The Steamboat Inn was a beautiful place to stay; I had stayed there many years ago under a previous owner and this visit was even better. We had a great breakfast and enjoyed meeting, talking with and getting to know our hosts. Our room was very comfortable and the home baked goodies and beverages provided in the afternoon were appreciated. This location is walking distance to the downtown area of Jefferson and we will definitely stay here again.
The Steamboat Inn is the most extraordinary hotel that I've come across as a well-traveled swiss journalist in recent years. The rooms in the Victorian-style guest house are lovingly furnished, from the breakfast table to the four-poster bed.
I will never forget my hostess Lana and will certainly return to the Steamboat Inn!
The manager was very involved with keeping us comfortable regarding the temperature of the hotel . She also made sure we had a coffee maker for the morning since it does not come automatically with the room and we are early risers. and look for breakfast before their usual breakfast schedule.
The location is just few steps from the downtown and all the shops n restaurants. Our room was so beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast was served hand made and the menu was different everyday. We loved having the conversations at our breakfast table. We just simply loved our 2 days here.
David and Tammy go the extra mile to ensure that your stay meets, or exceeds your expectations. They really went above and beyond making us happy at breakfast.
We highly recommend this B&B for your stay in Jefferson. The room and bathroom were very clean!
Quaint old hotel with nicely remodeled bathrooms, great mattresses, ceiling fan, and welcoming coffee upon arrival and first thing every morning.
Jefferson is a fun town from a different century!
Location! Quiet yet close to the historic downtown, right where we wanted to be. Very comfortable and well stocked, we love the separate cabins with the porch and rocking chairs and good

Beautiful old craftsman house that has been kept in very good condition. Blocks from the downtown area and shopping. The breakfast was out of this world!! It’s truly a gourmet breakfast.
