It's a small town in west Texas.

It's a small town in west Texas. As such, it's a bit "stockyard-y". The restaurant we chose was fairly new; the lemonade tasted a bit "off" but the food was ok. The motel was 1950s on the outside, but our room was recently renovated and more than adequate. We stayed because it fit our timing - it was an overnight-only visit, and my viewpoint is therefore limited.

Brownfield isn't really a vacation destination.

Brownfield isn't really a vacation destination. If you're there, you have a reason to be there. Most of the hotel rooms are occupied by construction or oilfield workers. Restaurants are limited to the usual fast food offerings with a few Mexican food places. There's not much to look at other than flat, dusty plains. It's a waypoint...a place to stop when you're driving someplace else.
