It was like a slice of American Heaven. The peace, the views, the nature trails, the people and the food. Walters’s warm personality matches his talent in the kitchen. Our welcome muffins in the room were such a beautiful touch and come to find out they were gluten-free, I could do a U-turn and go back for more right now. We originally booked three nights and enjoyed ourselves so much, we added an extra night. I enjoyed the seeing the garden, the old chapel and seeing all the beautiful country touches around this very well kept Inn. The owners Leslie and Jim are very friendly and Accommodating. I enjoyed Summer very much as well, she served us breakfast a few of the days. We stayed in the orchard loft, I’d love to come back and stay in the Inn for a family reunion in the future. We enjoyed having a bonfire all to ourselves in the middle of that beautiful yard overlooking the barns with the chickens, and the horses and the goat. I will never forget those beautiful peacocks, they gave me a thrill at night, squawking in the trees coming back from dinner, great memories. A beautiful place with beautiful people. Loves all the nature trails, around the pond and through a meadow, just so beautiful.
The town of Madison was very delightful. We enjoyed the restaurants and the shops and it was close to the place we were staying at The Farmhouse Inn. Parking is free. Our favorite restaurant was the 220 downtown. We also enjoyed Crows barbecue ribs, the coleslaw was fantastic! It was so delightful to get to know this part of Georgia. I would even consider moving there, it’s so clean and very impressive. Oh and I bought some shoes!!!

James Madison Inn bumped us on day of arrival and claimed they did not receive our Booking.com reservation until the morning of arrival. Booking.com told us the opposite and claimed they sent it to the Inn a week prior, on the day of booking. No one took responsibility for our ruined weekend and we still have one night's stay charge on our credit card.

The historic district is the main reason we visited Madison.
The historic district is the main reason we visited Madison. There seems to be a lack of good restaurants and watering holes. If not, they should be better promoted. We stayed at the Kirby House which I highly recommend. Looking for a watering hole was a challenge. Live music of any type? Piano bars? Good ethnic food? We plan on returning in the Spring and doing a better job of planning our trip in advance. Would appreciate information on Spas and potential tie ins with Bed and Breakfast establishments. Not necessarily a discount but mor a recommendation with easy access to booking. Overall, nice town with a lot of potential and we plan on visiting again in a couple of months.

Delightfully picturesque historic community.
Delightfully picturesque historic community. Wish we had allotted ourselves a day or two to stroll and explore all Madison has to offer those who enjoy American history, architecture of the 1800’s and a town that recognizes and appreciates its role in Southern culture.
The ranch location is very good. Only an hour from Atlanta, yet a world away. A peaceful charming location, with Madison only a short drive away offering small town Southern charm.
Lovely room, very clean, comfortable & stylishly decorated. With great view overlooking horse paddock.
The pool area was nice, and the games room offered a good selection of activities. It was lovely to have access to the horses in the paddock & to also see them in the stables area.
The location was convenient. The hotel check-in lady was very helpful and recommended dining options. We tried one of her recommendations and it was good. The hotel smelled and looked clean which is always important to us. The breakfast was better than the typical hotel breakfast. The egg omelettes were actually tasty. The lady attending the breakfast was very helpful and even brought us a bottled water. She had a smile on her face and was a pleasant employee.
This place looked a little rough on arrival, reception was clean and nice looking though. Our room was as expected for what we paid for it. The bed was comfortable enough but everything else could have been much better. We walked around the hotel site at night & felt safe enough. We would not stay here again on our travels.
Madison town during the day was really nice with a small-town feel to it.
Madison is a cool little town—great place to stop on a long drive home. We were thrilled to find this place to stay. Our bed and linens were first-rate, and we had a balcony overlooking a pasture. The breakfast they served was ample and tasty, and we followed it with a trail ride. This was just the break we needed before getting back on the road.
the room was really clean and the lighting was warm and welcoming.
the bathroom was large and exceptionally clean with great lighting. the king bed was super comfortable.
a really lovely stay for a great value. I highly recommend this hotel for overnight guests or longer term needs.
Quiet, friendly owners, beautiful setting, very clean, excellent breakfast. There were lots of animals to watch, places to hike or sit outside on the terrace. The location is not far from a main road and Madison is a charming town 5 miles away that is worth exploring.
Like something out of a storybook. The beautiful grounds, welcoming farmhouse and the animals are all wonderful. Madison town is also gorgeous and only a short drive down the road.
