We enjoy exploring the many lakes around Heber. There are plenty of hiking trails, back roads and amazing views. We especially love the scenery on the drive to Woods Canyon Lake - park your car and walk to the edge - it feels like you're standing on top of the world, literally! It's truly breathtaking! On our drive to Black Canyon Lake, wild horses ran down onto the road in front of us. That was a surprise and amazing to see! Willow Springs Lake is our favorite lake, by far! Quiet, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. Since we travel with our dogs, we cook most of our meals at the cabin but did have lunch one day at Smoke Signals Grillhouse. We were able to sit on the patio with the dogs and enjoy a great meal! We love the quaintness of the town - Heber Market, Windy Hills Lavendar Farm, and the little shops in Bison Town. It is a simpler way of life, and exactly what we like.

It was under renovation but it should be closed.

It was under renovation but it should be closed. The water pressure was weak. The coffee maker was dirty. The electrical circuit blew when I plugged in my phone charger. The refrigerator worked well. The bed was comfortable.

It has the things you need, food and stores, but then it is...

It has the things you need, food and stores, but then it is in the forest and you are able to explore in any direction. Some great people up there, and a small town feel. If you are looking for peaceful relaxing time in the pine forest, whether it be camping in a tent, RV, campground, cabin rental or one of the 2 hotels, well you will be happy you are there!

We didn't meet an unkind soul anywhere. The folks are nice.

We didn't meet an unkind soul anywhere. The folks are nice. Heber Country Store, aka Heber Market, had everything we needed to prepare nutritious meals in our fully equipped rental cabin. While shopping, a dog approached and the employees and shoppers stopped to help the dog. That's a good example of the great people who live and work in Heber-Overgaard. We went for an evening stroll after supper..loved gazing up at the stars...and we were safely out after dark. We enjoyed the Windy Hills Lavender farm and Wild Woods gifts and sculptures.
