Whittier is between two great places in the mountains.
Whittier is between two great places in the mountains. The famous Cherokee with its casino is 10 minutes in one direction! In the other direction is a town that holds my heart Bryson City. Both have great family fun activities. Whittier itself has a quiet atmosphere for those who want to visit near by towns and come home to a quiet place. For those who want to enjoy Whittier there is a country club with golf available to the public!

Wanted an overnight stay so we could go to the casino. This location provided exactly what we needed AND it's pet friendly which helped make the final decision. It provides a large "doggie" area to walk the pets. Lots of fast food restaurants directly across the street....most convenient. Unfortunately, most of them did not provide dine in due to pandemic restrictions but the drive thru's were open.

I wasn’t there for the location- there wasn’t much there to see. Probably not the place to go if you’re looking for entertainment. Hiking was even a bit hard to find. But it was away from the typical touristy mountain stuff and that was good.

Please note, this is a very small cabin with only a toilet, not a full bathroom. The people are great and so was the pool and playground. It was close to a lot of great things. I was not prepared for the lack of space for a five day trip with family.

Situated halfway between Dollywood and Biltmore, Whittier offers much for travelers. There is a Harrah’s there and Cherokee is close by too. Check out the Museum of the Cherokee Indian if you have time.
The pictures were VERY misleading. The absolutely filthiest place we have EVER seen. It definitely should be removed from your list.
We walked in and directly out the door. The smell and the filth was beyond imaginable. We are requesting a Full Refund. Being high foliage season it was challenging to find a hotel that was not full.
The retreat was stocked with everything you would need to cook and clean. The retreat was also very clean. It was very nice to have a book with instructions and labeled light switches. Parking under the carport was a nice touch. It was a great location for visiting Bryson City, Cherokee, and Nantahala Outdoor Center.
The cabin was in a gated community which was nice. It was really comfortable and had things to do while you were there. Pool table, Ping pong and a basketball ball rim and all equipment. Had a fire pit which was great for s'mores. The kids had so much fun they didn't want to leave
The cabin was pretty gross, honestly. I could have paid $10-15 more and stayed at a hotel with a clean room. I was disappointed with the appearance of the place. It would not take much effort to get the room presentable. I hope they do so for future guests.
haven’t been there for awhile, always stay there when we go to Cherokee. The prices are reasonable, very helpful and friendly staff. love how they have seating close to the creek, picnic tables and a fire pit.
The location! So peaceful and quiet. Very close to things to do. But most important it was delightful to just take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The hot tub was a wonderful addition.
The kids loved fishing from the backyard and we loved being in the mountains. It is close to the Cherokee entrance to the Smokies and we went hiking and fishing there daily.
On top of the Mountain, Great Spa, Easy to find, Near great small towns with lots of dining and shopping. Close to Cherokee Casino. Comfortable and Relaxing.
