This is a beautiful location in the mountains. The bedrooms are about what you'd expect from a state park lodge, charming though a bit spartan. The restaurant was good enough with really great views of the surrounding mountains and restaurant staff was friendly accommodating and appeared happy with their jobs.

There was breath taking views everywhere one looked. Magazine picture perfect.
When we (my sister and I) decided to go Mexican one night, the recommendation from the staff was perfect. So much so, we went back the following night.

THe state park was very scenic but avoid the lodge.
THe state park was very scenic but avoid the lodge. I had no refrigerator, microwave and the worst bed/matress ever. THe front desk staff was friendly and helpful. THe view off the balcony was scenic and the lodge grounds were park-like. It was a shame that the room and its lack of furnishings were so unfavorable. THe buffet was adequate but nothing special (I just had the breakfast). My room had a couple of bugs but otherwise seemed clean.

Very old downtown with beautiful buildings in decaying economic climate seen in all the small towns of America as jobs paying a livable age disappear and poverty of economic slavery becomes the norm of the 10% taking 80% of the wealth of America.
