Bob's Grill has good food ... only open til 2 PM, so hurry! The Top of Oklahoma Museum is quite interesting ... the volunteer host really helped us to understand the history of this town ... from 25, 000 population to today's 7,000. Great exhibits. Hotels along I-35 have good food available nearby. You can do a lot of stuff within a 10-mile radius, though the town doesn't have a great lot of attractions.

Blackwell is just about halfway and as a senior, I find it beneficial to split the 1100 mile trip into two days, particularly since I am traveling alone. I have stayed at this hotel numerous times, and always have a great experience. The staff are always nice, the room clean, the bed comfy. I will be staying here again in January. The location is also great- close to the interstate and near a fabulous Mexican food cafe.

The desk clerk was friendly and patiently worked through a computer glitch. She promised cookies, handed us water, and told us there was more if we needed it. The bathroom was quite nice. tub seemed new. Temperature of room stayed very comfortable. We were on the road early so we did not try the breakfast. They didn't even charge extra for our small dog. Restaurant on either side of the hotel and gas station right next to those.
