Was a relaxing island. Felt the nature all around. We ate at the Pearl restaurant which had great food and a lovely view of the marsh. Our server pointed out the ponies in the distance and brought us binoculars to see them.

It is a very small town.
It is a very small town. There aren’t many restaurants and places to eat. Everything closes very early, so plan accordingly. it’s perfect for a short vacation, one or two days, if you live about 2 hrs away. It is nice if you like riding bikes, fishing, kayaking. We live in Richmond and it is the same distance to OBX. In my opinion, I would go to NC. The beach is nicer and you’ll have more to do. But if you live in northern Va o MD. It is perfect!

The island is a beautiful blend of coastal and country.
The island is a beautiful blend of coastal and country. We took a guided boat tour with Daisy Island Tours and learned all about the island history, the ponies, and fishing. Lots of small businesses to support that treat you like family. Key West Cottages are so clean, unique, and I highly reccomend you stay there. Driving to Assateague National Park is a must.
Loved our visit!

Absolutely loved Chincoteague
Absolutely loved Chincoteague
Took the Assateague explorer boat tour twice highly recommend it. Rented moped trikes awesome!! The beach was gorgeous. People were friendly
A great over all experience.
The staff is so wonderful and were able to accommodate our large family that traveled in for a wedding. The location is hands-down the best on the island - water views from every room; the dock is a nice perk; picnic tables to eat the hot free breakfast each morning; the pool is open late which is perfect for after spending the entire day walking through town or after a day at the beach. We recommended this hotel to our family and they exceeded everyone’s expectations! We all plan to meet here again in September.
I wasn't excepting much after I checked the Google reviews, but I was positively surprised! The staff was super helpful and nice, the accommodations were simple but comfortable and very clean. For breakfast, you could pick up a brown bag (a great idea for COVID times) and choose between different types of toast, biscuits or bagels, tea, coffee, fruits, and boiled eggs. It is a simple hotel, not a 5-star accommodation, but given that, it was great. I would definitely come back.
The hotel is now under new management. The improvements already made were quite noticeable--including a competent and very friendly and accommodating staff, a much cleaner facility, and grounds improvement. It has only been a short while since the change occurred, so the new staff hasn't had a great deal of time to make changes. But, if the improvements continue as seen so far, this hotel will soon be an even better value for the money. We will definitely return.
We went to see the Chicoteague ponies during a long weekend. Having a tiny cottage to relax at, cook in, and just to stop and regroup was such a lovely way to spend our weekend. The cottages are adorable!!! It would be a cute place for a single or a couple to stay at if they found themselves in Chincoteague. The island isn’t too big, but the cottages are close to everything. You could easily walk to a few restaurants and a couple of bar/restaurants if you wanted.
We had a lovely room with a balcony and a direct view of the bay. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The included hot breakfast was much appreciated and had some variations from day to day. All staff members we met were friendly and helpful - when we returned to the hotel late one evening, clutching our pints of decadent ice cream from the Island Creamery, the host on duty happily supplied us with spoons!
location, is wonderful.Short drive to Assateague Island. Really, enjoyed our time , both at refugee & beach. Hotel, is extremely clean, nicely decorated & relaxing. Nice weather, permitted us time to enjoy, sitting on deck& Adirondack chairs along boardwalk. Pool & hot tub, clean. Room was spacious and cozy, with sitting area. Definitely would consider returning.6am breakfast, was great, allowing us an early start.
It was a good price for all the amenities and a pool for kids. Bathroom and towels and linins were clean. Decor and solid nice furniture were nice like the fancier hotels. The bed was comfy. Nice hot shower at night and sit back on the pillows and watch tv ! Maybe throw clean towel over bolster pillow. Good location for biking all over Chinotequa and Ashtenaqua or whatever it's called Nature Reserve.
We stayed in a beautifully updated room, but overall the staff very incredibly lovely, many thoughtful touches around the place including access to bikes, picnic baskets and the likes for those on holiday, the breakfast was incredible, and the location is perfect for a stay in Chincoteague. Overall we had a lovely time! Love the special touches in the room including guide and history books.
Pet friendly. Three course breakfast offered. A very cozy little place, and one of the very few on the island that permits pets. It was very much like spending the night with family relations. The staff was excellent, right down to providing a to-go breakfast as we wanted an early start.
It was our second visit and we love the view from the balcony. The room itself was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We didn't try the included breakfast because the hotel is only about 3 blocks from Amarin Coffee, which has the best breakfast pastries and coffee I've ever tasted.
First time at this hotel. Nice location. Older hotel but clean and comfortable. Nice pool area. Only issue is that there is no elevator. Good news tho- I got alot of exercise climbing the stairs. Definitely will go back. Had some TV issues and the staff were quick to fix the issues!
Hampton Inn is a beautiful hotel, with nice view, friendly and professional staff. The room temperture was very comfortable; my huaband and I loved it a lot. Very clean room with comfortable beds. The breakfast area is very nice; the pool and hot tub as well.
Love the location and the screen patio with the grill. I love the easy walk to the waterfront park. I walked to all the shops and met a few locals. This town is so sweet and kind. The room was updated with new furniture and the bed was really cozy.
Super affordable compared to the other hotels. My gf and I were looking for something nice but wouldn’t break the bank. It had everything we needed and was a perfect place to stay. It was our first time at the island and we had a blast.
Nice breakfast selection and plentiful. Covid-19 protocol was sensible. The location, staff and amenities are great. This will definitely be our hotel of choice when traveling to Chincoteague.
There is a coffee shop beside the hotel super convenient. This little island has great food beautiful beaches and wildlife. The hotel was clean and so comfortable. Sad to leave.
I liked how friendly, polite and accommodating the staff was. The room was far superior to other 3-star hotels I’ve been to—rooms are huge! Everything was squeaky clean too!
