The location is wonderful. I clogged with the Nevada County Cloggers for Irish days on Saturday, March 16th and my husband and I and friends enjoyed our Friday night stay.

Recently updated inside. New paint, etc. An older historic hotel. Clean and met our three day stay needs well. The desk staff were all nice and helpful. The helped us out on several occasions. The downtown area is there for strolling , shopping, eating and bar hopping. Breakfast was nice, coffee was hot, food acceptable for a classic hotel self serve offering.

It was what we expected! We were not looking for anything fancy. We were staying for only one night to head into Murphy’s and we needed an affordable pet friendly place. We brought our two little dogs and 7 year old daughter with us. We paid a small fee for our dogs which we expected. We stayed in room 110. There was a queen bed for my husband and I and a twin bed for our daughter. The shower worked great and the heater worked great. There was a big refrigerator in the room. There was a coffee machine but I didn’t use it since there was a coffee place within a very short walking distance. There was a TV that worked well. We were able to park our car right in front of our door. There is an area to walk your dogs around. It served its purpose!

This is a cute, non pretentious place to go for wine tasting and exploring. The main drag is very walkable and studded with restarants, tasting rooms and cute shops for gifts. Nearby caves and caverns for geology lovers or venture out to the surrounding towns or up into the national park. Pick up the local free newspaper to check out local happinings and classifieds. Several brew pubs if wine isn't your thing. Do your due diligence and google a bit before you arrive so you don't miss out on fun special events or play it by ear. This place is just easy to enjoy.

It is nearly $200 for one night and it's mainly because of the convenience of it's location. The rooms are not really worth the $200 you pay, but it's all about being able to stumble back after a day of wine tasting, which is nice and I will continue to most likely stay there. The beds are so so on comfiness and the wifi is a bit spotty and the tv can be a pain in the butt. The people at check in and out are very nice and welcoming which I absolutely love!

Murphys is such a fun town.
Murphys is such a fun town. You can walk up and down the street and winetaste, and there are also some great food and shopping options. There is a cute little stream running right through a park at the center of town and on hot days you can put your feet in! It's close to a lot of attractions like the Calaveras Big Trees, a few caves, and a historic gold mining park. There is tons to do here for families as well as if you are just a couple.

Very clean rooms.
Very clean rooms. Also, very quiet, and close to old town Murphys. Also, right off Hwy 4. Microwave, fridge, and TV in room. Plus coffee machine. We ate at the Historic Murphys Motel and Robs Restaurant.

Murphys is a wonderful little town; if you are into shops, wine tasting, or even going for a hike this is a place for you. There are different places you can visit depending on what you like. Caverns to tour, there are Natural Bridges to hike and find the caves that is naturally formed by water. Or you can visit the local wineries and get the hometown experience.
This is a great place to visit and I recommend it, especially in the fall and spring. Murphys, CA is a beautiful place to visit.

Murphys was a very pleasant surprise.
Murphys was a very pleasant surprise. It's a very cute town with plenty of options for one to be amused. Cute boutiques, few wine and champagne tasting rooms, nice restaurants, all on main street. We ate a wonderful meal on a quaint patio area at Grounds restaurant. I highly recommend a local store for specialty foods and spices called The Spice Tin.
