My family has been visiting McCormick’s Creek State Park, located just outside of Spencer, for over 40 years. It never gets old. Any time we haven’t had what we need for our stay at the park, including additional options for dining, groceries, swim goggles, toiletries, we’ve found it in Spencer.

The only reason we stayed there is because it is close to Bloomington and had reasonably priced rooms for the football game. However, there isn't much in Spencer. We had great buffet meals at the Inn and also at the Hilltop Restaurant served family style a little North of Spencer. Went for a winery tour at Oliver Vineyards near Bloomington, IN. A wonderful historic tour and wine tasting. Took a few bottles home. Beautiful setting with blooming flowers and pond with tables available for picnics or just having wine with cheese and crackers.
