I loved how great the staff was. Everyone was so friendly. The rooms were clean and the lobby is inviting and beautiful. The attached bar served great food and drinks. Breakfast in the Gun Room was delicious. The location is perfect. I could watch boats on the river right from my room. There are lots of shops and restaurants right near the hotel.

Very well-maintained historic downtown along the waterfront of the Ohio and Muskingum Rivers. Many interesting shops and restaurants to explore and friendly shop owners abounded. We didn't have enough time to try all the restaurants that had been recommended, but we did eat at and would recommend Over the Moon Pizza, Tampico Mexican Restaurant, and the Marietta Brewing Company.

We were on the back of the hotel on post street and Ohio St corner. It was quiet there until garbage trucks arrived. But really garbage needs picking up it was right below our window. I like that windows opened up and the room was very small but it made it cozy. Bed was to soft and it was hard to stay in because it was kind of worn out on the one side. Tv reception was extremely horrible almost impossible to even watch. Snowy reception. The tvs need replacing and upgraded. There are no refrigerators in the rooom and there are no accommodations for charging devices available do bring your own.
I have stayed at this hotel at least 4 times in 9 years with my boyfriend..now husband. I love the old hotel the breakfast is good and included. They seem short staffed as the front bar and grill girl was on her own and she handled it well but really why would you not have more than one person in that area she took orders, made drinks, rang up and figured bills, delivered food to tables. Actually she did every aspect of all the jobs required to run a restaurant and it was very busy. Layfette hotel is charming, so if you go remember that it’s an old hotel that has tried to renovate to modern conveniences so rooms are small bathroom are tight and you are in downtown noise. I will return again I am sure but if you want modern everyday conveniences that is at modern hotel then this is not for you. If you want to try something different and step back in time a bit and relax by the river then I recommend this hotel. It’s charming!

Beware business travelers and anyone looking for a quite stay. Local families use this hotel for bday venues. Kids we’re running wild in pool area and the hallways. During a 9 day stay I called the front desk several times on two occasions and at 9pm in bed with pjs said they’d move me. Omgoodness!!!! I prepaid for my stay and requested a quite room as I’m up at 5 working online and going to our location in Marietta for business. We are Fla based. Note, the next day no remedy was offered. Very unprofessional.

The Lafayette Hotel is a beautiful, historic property evocative of Marietta's riverboat past. My wife, my mother-in-law, and I stayed for the night en route to another Ohio destination. The room was elegantly appointed in Victorian-era decor and very clean. Parking was very convenient, and the property is in easy walking distance of a very nice downtown area with plenty of dining and shopping options
We stayed one night, efficient check in, nice staff.
The hotel is rich in light and has pleasant vibe. All facilities felt very clean, the room is quite big, the bed and sheets were comfy, there is all day coffee & hot water in the lobby. Although this is a “motel” it felt really safe to stay.
Definitely will stay again.
The hotel located outside Marietta town but it’s easy to drive to (~10min).
Rooms were super clean and comfortable. Had a small dog too and he was very comfortable too. No previous dog smells which would of made him anxious as we ran into that at another hotel. ( Not a holiday inn) Breakfast was good .
Would highly recommend.
This is our second stay- the rooms are big, staff friendly, pretty decent continental breakfast with some hot options. It’s in a great location across from a Walmart so that’s convenient. It’s a family friendly hotel as well.
Super clean and quiet. Bed was unexpectedly comfortable—soft enough and an adequate number of pillows. Staff was very friendly. I would recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again myself!
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The kids enjoyed the pool. It is centrally located for lots of meal options—thanks for the listing of all the restaurants nearby.
