Managers reception: Had kids with me. Chicken nuggets would've been a good choice for them.

The location seemed to be great, at least for what I needed. It was close to the interstate and a restaurant is in the same parking lot! It was easy to book and had ample amount of parking. The parking was free, which I appreciated.

The room itself was great! The front desk check-in was the worst I've ever experienced and the facilities had rules not mentioned or posted that directly affected our stay. The pool was dirty, the hot tub was dirty and water was tepid. The outdoor pavilion was nice with a grill etc., but dog feces were everywhere...shame on the pet owners but also the facility not to notice. Breakfast had a lot of choices which we were grateful for.

If you like to feel at home in a very clean and quiet environment then you'll love it here. Light breakfast, parking, wifi, garden, large back yard, balcony, many restaurants and excursions, cleaning and body products included in room. Super friendly and informative host and locals, private/hassle free check in/out, pool tables and several games in the lounge area located near kitchen, options for spa and so many more. It is my new weekend getaway. I highly recommend (I'm very particular) and definitely book a trip on the Wilmington & Western Railroad steam train ride.

I want to return very soon.
I want to return very soon. I slept well and enjoy your surroundings.
Its a nice bathroom and the space is spacious and quiet. Parking was challenging since the plant overgrowth makes it difficult to park IF there are MORE than 6 vehicles.
There are any number of suggestions I would offer but I suspect that you may not wish to hear them. So, I will keep my counsel unless you explicitly ask for my feedback.
For sure, I will need to reserve a room with an attached bathroom in the future. I will also need to bring my own bread or bagels for toasting for breakfast. My own cutlery would be useful as well.
I like your accommodations enough that I wish to return there soon.
May I ask of you if you know anything about the St. Georges Country Store and Creamery? IF you do, PLEASE share. I found it last week by accident. They have live blues music 3 nights per week.
I hope to meet you, Karin, on my next visit. You were at a convention while Piotr manned the fort. We discovered that we both speak Polish.
How likely is that to happen? Anyway, he is most friendly and a real gentle man.
I look forward to chatting with you at length.
Gently,
Steve B,
PS. Your advert mentions acess to a pool, You should remove that references since you have no pool, Just an FYI
Had to book for $220 a night (only stayed one night because that’s all they had available). The outside looked like a cheap place to stay. The lobby was nice looking but upstairs the carpets were dirty and warped in the hallways. It was quiet and presentable. Reason only one night there was a sports tournament.
Staff was very helpful and reasonable. They take debit cards as well.
All in all, not too bad in a pinch but Price gouched due to no more vacancies in the area.
Clean The staff was friendly and helpful
The breakfast food was delicious and amply stocked
I also enjoyed a complimentary hot cup of tea at night from the breakfast area
The bathrooms were clean and so were the linens The king bed was comfortable
Shower clean
All of theses things make we want to recommend the Best Western Plus Hotel in Bear Delaware to other people traveling through Delaware
We travel down from CT to Maryland often, to visit our daughter and her family. Many times we stop in Delaware for the night. As to arrive refreshed in the morning. I have been wanting to try Whispering Oak Mansion for a while. Sooo much nicer then a Hotel. We did get the room with the private bath. It was lovely. Sadly I didn't get to meet Karin. As we arrived so late. Maybe next time
Very quiet, serene. The cleanest property we have ever visited. Apprehensive when we booked, seemed too good! It was! All precautions taken during pandemic. Six cars in parking area, never saw or heard anyone during our stay. Very private. We have no reason to return to Bear, DE, but will definitely go back to stay at this property. Highly recommend!
The location was all right. I had never been to Wilmington DE before, and so I chose this hotel by price and online reviews. Turned out to be a few miles from my destinations, and so it was fine.
Room is big, the floor is not carpet so is more clean, the breakfast even in this pandemic is way better than other hotels. The access to the hotel and parking are good.
