We really loved our stay here. Gary treated us as special visitors. We chose the handy cap room with a beautiful porch and ramp because we wanted our foster son who lives in Oberlin to be able to maneuver his W/C so he could visit us. Not only did he visit us, but Gary invited him to join us for our breakfast. We loved staying here.

Cute little town we didn’t know existed before yesterday. We just stayed overnight. Ate at the Round up Tavern ( I think that is the name, it was in downtown) Great experience. Yummy pizza, fresh salad and their homemade hot sauce was the bomb. Just the right amount of spice and super taste.

Oberlin is locus of the last Indian raid in Kansas, the exodus of the Northern Cheyenne and the depredations that became part of the story. The museum offers a 90 minute self-guided experience. But the town itself is interesting, well preserved in an era that destroys old towns to recreate them in imitation of modernity. There are excellent lodgings and good dining available, also compassionate services (if you should have an accident with a deer). Prices here will fit modest budgets. People serve with gentleness and courtesy. Real Kansas hospitality!
