Check-in was relatively easy and quick. The room had clearly been updated and looked nice. As a former housekeeper, I found that the room was very clean. The fridge in the room was massive! The mirror was very large and nice, but it seemed like the light that might have been built into the mirror wasn't hooked up?

Bed were the only thing we liked. Dislikes, different sport teams at the same hotel, I couldn't take my boys swimming, they were heart broken. That was the main reason for that hotel cause it was also close to where we had to be. There was no heads up on any sports activity there, they're more than 20 kids in the pool, kids running up and down the halls, kids cutting us off to get into the elevator.

    Excellent staff, very helpful.

    Excellent staff, very helpful. Very close to race track and Adventureland. Close to fantastic restaurants (we highly recommend Jethro's Barbecue, about two blocks away). Gret morning breakfasts and cocktail bar is available in the afternoon and evening on site.

    Great place to bring children and family to stay and swim.

    Great place to bring children and family to stay and swim. Nice restaurant with good food and drink. Very spacious and clean rooms. Rooms are great with balconies so you can relax and watch the swimmers. Nice safe area. Restaurants within walking distance Mc Donald's, taco, and even Jethro Barbeque. Don't forget the Altoona Outlet Mall for great shopping.

    We have always loved AdventureLand.

    We have always loved AdventureLand. We have been there 5 times. The park is getting more run down and you can tell the conditions are worsening. We won’t be back. They don’t even supply sunscreen anywhere in the park! Adventure Bay was really fun but we can find one just as good closer to home. Brick & Ivy Rooftop restaurant was great! Great food and customer service!

    Motel was below quality I experienced at other LaQuinta locations. It wasn't very nice around the outside of the property. Breakfast was nothing special at all. AND I am having a difficult time talking to a manager about incorrect charges that have occurred. I do not appreciate a charge and than another charge for $360 extra. I have not been able to speak to anyone who seems to be in charge of helping with the problem and I am upset.

    Altoona is just a honky-tonk amusement area.

    Altoona is just a honky-tonk amusement area. No landscaping, no sidewalks, massive bleak pavements, mechanical rides. Absolutely without charm. Kids and compulsive gamblers may like it. Others, stay away.

    Prairie meadows especially when the horses are running the casino in definitely worth going to most of the people are really nice Adventureland is still trying to get back on their feet but they're still well worth going to even though some of the rides are not operational right now but stay away from the Motel 6 right across the street from Adventureland they're going through a lot of Renovations and the means are not up to par with most Motel 6

    We had an awesome experience at this hotel. The staff was very friendly. We asked if we could check in early and the manager had no problem with us coming in early. He waived the extra fee for us. When we got into the room if was very clean and even smelled clean. The beds and pillows were absolutely the most comfortable I have ever slept in. It was wonderful.

    This is the only place I will stay when I come to Iowa. I usually have to clean the rooms that I have stayed in previously this place is the exception to the rule. It is impeccably clean the staff is professional and friendly I love this hotel it’s perfect, and I am a smoker and this place is non smoking and I don’t even care!!! ❤️❤️❤️

    The rooms were Very clean. Beds were comfortable. Microwave and mini fridge in the room were clean. Good variety of food for breakfast. The coffee was good. Snacks, soda, and microwave meals were available for purchase at the front desk. There are two convenience stores within walking distance of the hotel.

    When we asked for a specific room, the staff did not hesitate to make that happen for us. We love to get away for just a quick visit and this is our go to hotel to stay at. Love the friendly staff! Will keep coming here.
