Location;friendly/helpful staff. The “grounds/janitor” (?), saw me cleaning the slow off my car and went and retrieved a snow brush/ice remover available from the front lobby. I wasn’t aware that it was available, several; guest used it in turn. Considering the snow conditions, it was a “god-send,”

Baymont by Wyndham Yreka, hotel in Yreka

This Yreka, California hotel is less than 5 minutes from the Siskiyou County Fairgrounds. The hotel features an indoor pool and hot tub as well as rooms with free Wi-Fi.

The food at the breakfast was the only redeeming quality of this location. The environment at the breakfast was less than desirable, the tweaker guests with multiple children made trips to the buffet and there was one clever gentleman from the nearby transit camp who paired up the free orange juice with champagne he opened in the lobby area to pour himself and a hotel employee a delicious looking mimosa.

The ice machine area smelled of ironed and there were all the makings of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, with everything open and messy on top of the ice machine. It seemed like maybe a homeless person was there. The bathroom was not very clean, breakfast over promised and under delivered.

Yreka is an old mining town with lots of gold mining history. Walk Miner St. to see very old buildings. Visit the Museum and see great displays and learn the history for yourself. A couple nice restaurants, lots of fast food eating!

Clean, comfortable place to spend the night.

Clean, comfortable place to spend the night. Staff was very nice. Room was clean. Pool was available, but overlooked the drive through at Taco Bell. Felt weird swimming there. Staff had good recommendations for places to eat. Good stop over on the way home.

I would not say Yreka is a destination unto itself, though I suppose a history or photography buff could enjoy the California state historical district Old Town Yreka (I did not go because it wasn't the purpose of my trip). Mostly just a good city to use as a springboard for the numerous outdoor recreation activities in Northern California. Local coffee company Golden Rush Espresso is a good alternative to Starbucks and with better prices and friendly staff; was happy to support. Local family restaurant Puerto Vallarta is some of the best Mexican food in NorCal and the staff is great. I would avoid Walmart and the scary, homeless druggies outside of it...and the dirty interior with scarce and unhelpful employees. In Yreka itself the gas prices are $0.30 cheaper than the I-5 stop just a few miles south of the city at the Grenada junction.

A staff member moved my reservation to another room.

A staff member moved my reservation to another room. When I returned in the evening a black ribbon was tied to the door handle. When I went to the front desk to ask about the black ribbon the clerk(same one that checked me in) stated they were calling the police and they had no record I had paid for the room. When I demanded he look for my name he found it. I had sanitized my room and requested staff not clean or enter the room. I learned multiple staff members had been in the room when I was out. If it hadn't been so late, I would have left and found another hotel. Worst hotel stay.

Check in went well. The attendant was very nice and welcoming. He was professional. The room was modest but clean, clean, clean and well kept up! Everything functioned well. There were thoughtful modifications to the room such as usb plugs at the night stands and standard electrical outlets for each side of each bed. (We rented two queen beds). The windows kept the sounds at bay. When we checked in there was hardly anyone parked at the hotel rooms. The next morning it was full and we did not hear a thing when late motorists must have come in.

We didn't eat breakfast, but coffee was readily available 24hr a day. The room was very comfortable. We had stayed in 3 other motels during our trip and this motel was the very best and helped us go the rest of the way home totally rested and feeling good. Thank you Comfort Inn of Yreka!! You guys rock.

This BW is one of the nicest I have been to. The room is like new, beds are perfect, WiFi and CATV are awesome. I made the mistake of booking another hotel in town and immediately checked out and found this place. Just skip that step and come here first.

It was rated 2 ⭐. I think it should be 3 or more. Checking in was smooth, the bed was super comfy and the room was spacious. They are remodeling much like most hotels right now but everything was contained, and the remodeling is actually 👍

Nice place. The guest room of the hotel is gorgeous. The rooms are average - in line with the price. Crickets in the rooms are certainly bad. The availability of breakfast is a plus. There are board games and billiards.

The best thing about this property is the outside appearance. With the exception of the empty pool, it looked really nice from the outside.
