Incredible little town nestled in the mountains. Great restaurants -- a beautiful old cemetery and a wonderful small town feel. On the weekends they close down one of the streets for a lobster bake and live entertainment.

Several nice restaurants it would have been nice to dine in.
Several nice restaurants it would have been nice to dine in. When not during a pandemic the town will be great to hear music and dine in a relaxing atmosphere. Wonderful bakery. Walkable with plenty of parking.

Came to town primarily to attend a play at Shadowlands Stages in downtown Ellenville. Very nice theater and wonderful production of Over the River and Through the Woods. The restaurants near the theater were very good!

The mountains around Ellenville - but the town is rundown in many places. From people who have been there many years ago, they told us that the town has been deteriorated and is no longer what it used to be.
I really liked that the Village Motel greatly exceeded my expectations. The price was very reasonable, especially since the Borscht Belt Festival was atrracting a crowd to Ellenville and rooms were in demand.
Hosts are super. We knew them from their prior restauarant in Brooklyn, glad to see they haven't lost their hospitality skills. Very helpful with area advice also.
