A great little town with lots of awesome nature trails to explore. I would have loved to have spent an extra day there (a tropical storm came through one day so it was a wash out due to all of the rain). If you enjoy hiking and nature trails, there's plenty of it to be done in that area. It's a great place to go when you want to get away from the rat race.

My family and I were in town for the Hunter Mt Oktoberfest. Tannersville was right near it, about 6 miles away, so we stayed there. It's a quaint little town with shops and restaurants on its Main Street. We didn't have time to explore it, but will next time we're in town. There was an antique and cheese shop, I would have like to go into, but my son wasn't feeling well, so we headed home after breakfast. Also it was raining and it's not much fun to shop in the rain with kids.We ate dinner and breakfast at Selena & Nick's Diner. The food was good and reasonably priced. We loved the ride through the mountains in the fall, although the leaves hadn't changed too much yet. Maybe next year we'll go a week later.

    The mountains.

The mountains. Great for tubing, both snow and river, hiking, skiing, biking. The food. From marvelous ice cream cones to beer and burgers at Last Chance and everything in between. New places popping up all the time. The shops. From huge wood carved bears to tiny china cups. A relaxed atmosphere and friendly people.
