Catskill is a town, which we didn't visit this time, but it is also the Mountains. We used to live in the area for the summers from 1985 - 95, so we know it well. We visited the site of the old Catskill Mountain House, and also the Kaaterskill Falls Observation deck, which was wonderful on this beutiful spring day. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and smelled fresh. It was a great price, but this is a no frills kind of place. Everything including beds, pillows, linens, fixtures and appliances are dated. I would recommend this place if you are not too fussy about amenities and quality of the bedding, etc.

I love thsee mountains.
I love thsee mountains. I plan to spend more time exploring them. We found an excellent restaurant that spoiled us and was delicious. The "Bluestone". Very near the Redranch motel. We loved all of the srea! Only bad thing... too many people love it too. Lol
