There is not much going on in Newfane.
There is not much going on in Newfane. It is a quiet spot on the shores of Lake Ontario. There is a beautiful park by the shore from where you can watch spectacular sunsets. We had spent the last 2 weeks in New York city and Boston and were looking for a couple of days of quiet relaxation to recover - we found it here. If you need groceries then there is a small, but perfectly sufficient, supermarket (Tops) on the Newfane/Olcott road (on the left going to the Lake). Restaurants in the area are limited to "burgers and wings", so if you want anything more up-market go to the lake turn West and drive the 5 miles to Wilson - here there are restaurants with more complete menus as well as several breweries, wineries and a marina (all with outside seating).

We were only in the area for a family wedding but would like...
We were only in the area for a family wedding but would like to go back and try the fishing and visit the lake. Due to other obligations and lack of time available we did not do much sightseeing or looking for other things to do . Restaurant across the street was very good
