The cabin and property were SO well kept!!! Since the pandemic I have stayed in many vacation facilities and many of those being name brand chain hotels that were terrible. This property is wonderful!
We flew so a little inconvenient that bath towels were not provided but we worked it out. Definitely not a deal breaker. I highly recommend this property and the entire area!

It was a beautiful clean town with many shops and places to eat. The views over the water was very nice. The things at shops were very expensive. Even the Amish were selling things that were way over priced. All in all I loved the area.

Clayton has certainly improved.
Clayton has certainly improved. The downtown has been renovated, utilities have been put underground which makes the downtown charming. There are many good restaurants. We ate breakfast and Dinner at the Seaway Grille and the quant Coffee Cove Restaurant.A trip would not be complete with out a visit to Foxy’s Restaurant. There are lots of unique shops in Clayton, such as Carla’s Christmas Shop, Michael Ringer Galleries and the Eagle Shoppe. Clayton has an opera house and one of the best antique boat museums. Clayton is located on the shore of the St. Lawrence River in the center of the Thousand Islands.

Lyrics coffee house has amazing frozen coffees. Been there a bunch of times. Staff is very friendly.
DiPrinzio’s Kitchen has good pizza and really good wings. You can sit out on the patio and watch the boats go by. Staff is very friendly as well.
Koffee Kove has some yummy food as well, but didn’t get to stop in this year. We went there last year. Staff is also very friendly.
I love Clayton. It’s a beautiful little town with so much to see and so much to shop and eat.
The boat museum is pretty cool.

Great place to visit but based on what we saw and heard it can be quite busy in the summer-time. Lots of touristy shops and restaurants but most close after Columbus Day. Nice state parks with lots of hiking trails and interesting nature centers. Uncle Sam's Boat Tours is definitely worth the price and if you go between Memorial Day and Columbus Day you can see Baldt and Singer Castles. A great place to eat is JK's Roadhouse outside Alexandria Bay. You don't need a car to see Clayton or Alexandria Bay...both towns and all they have to offer can be walked to. Next trip will be after Labor Day and before Columbus Day!

Nice small town.
Nice small town. Lots of restaurants are open only for dinner. Great bakery and nice restaurants open in the area, Might need to drive towards Alexandria Bay for more options. Nice wineries en route. Take the scenic route.
Everything was 5 Stars. Sadly, as you travel more and more, you start to realize that most places you stay at are lacking in at least one area or another. It may be clean, but lacking in hospitality, the beds may be comfortable but the breakfast is a cold bagel, there's ALWAYS something off. But The 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel was the exception. Not only was everything on point, but everything and I mean everything exceeded our expectations. We'll definitely be returning and have even decided to have our wedding here.
We can’t even express how beautiful the room was. It was so impressive in every way. The room was even upgraded for some reason and we were absolutely delighted! The view from our room and balcony was stunning with the river and beautiful park below with flowers and tables and chairs. We cannot say enough about the scenic view! The hotel is magnificent in every way and we didn’t want to leave. Thank you so much.
We've been before pre-covid and it's a lovely hotel in a lovely location. This is our first trip back in over three years and it's still lovely although it seems clear that staff shortages are affecting not only your hotel but many other restaurants and stores as well.
You staff that we chatted with were wonderful, so kind, polite and accommodating and we will be back.
Laid back cottage setting on St Lawrence River.( 4) units, ours was clean and comfortable. Small boat yard 30 yards from our porch was interesting .Nice view of River.
Short 4- 5 minute drive to downtown Clayton( 15-20 minute walk).
Judy, our host was quite affable. Not too fancy, but Flat Screen, kitchen,Wi Fi..
We' d go back
The room was clean and comfortable. Steve, the guy who runs the place was awesome. He gave us suggestions for places to eat and things to do. Very kind and friendly. The location is great, only a few minutes from downtown Clayton, great river views and nightly campfires. We will definitely be back again.
Sandy was very pleasant and helpful in pointing out some restaurants in downtown Clayton NY. Stay was real relaxing, beds comfortable, refrig, microwave, coffee maker, freezer TV and internet. What else does one need. We definitely would stay at Fair winds should we return to the area.
Tiny in town motel in perfect location for Antique Boat Museum and Clayton shopping. It’s an easy walk to everything-brew pub nearby. Rooms are small but nicely decorated and absolutely clean. Staff, including Abby, the long time manager, are friendly and helpful.
Nice continental breakfast - juice, yogurt, fruit, cereal, coffee, tea.
Central location, close to Clayton River Walk, boat tours, bridge to Canada.
Quiet place, beautiful views of the river.
The boat tour was fabulous!
Well appointed rooms; friendly staff; great location in Clayton; good variety of rooms and cottages; Internet is excellent; spacious grounds on the St. Lawrence River, good for swimming and all water sports
I am overall very satisfied with my visit at the hotel, but what was a bit of a letdown was the food at the restaurant. The Ahi Tuna was overcooked and the hashbrowns were for my taste too crispy.
