The place was very cute, I loved the little dog park in the back and the very cute style the porch and rooms were decorated with. We showed up a week early (I messed up the dates) and the staff was more than happy to fix it for me to allow me to stay my desired dates, we even stayed an extra night!
Only stayed for one night. The hotel that we chose we thought was on the better side but turned out to be not quite that good.
We drove around in the morning on our way out and saw that this was a quaint little town. Some of the neighborhoods were really really nice and we enjoyed the tour that we took just driving through. Seems like it might be a place that we'd like to come back to see what else it has to offer.

This was our fourth trip to Escanaba, all one night stays to see shows at the casino. I would like to stay a day or two more some time to explore more of the area but that doesn't work for my husband. I enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ludington. Very old and interesting place. We've eaten at Hudson's Grill, Mo's bar and grill, The Ludington grill and the Swedish place that I can't think of the name of (there are billboards for it). I'm looking forward to going back.

I'm very familiar with the area.
I'm very familiar with the area. I've been visiting there for over 10 years. It's got plenty for shopping needs, a theater, variety of places to eat, the large park is wonderful, and its scenic areas such as lakes/beaches/pier are beautiful as well as great biking/walking trails and more.

Tons of parks and nature nearby.
Tons of parks and nature nearby. We enjoyed Haymeadow Falls and Van Cleve Park in nearby Gladstone. There’s a good bike path for biking around. Parks in Escanaba and Gladstone have massive castle playgrounds great for kids!

A pleasant, easy-going place.
A pleasant, easy-going place. It's difficult to judge a community during the pandemic, but everyone we met during our stay was welcoming and friendly (with the one exception being Saykllly's on M41/US 2 who seemed bothered by having customers while they were doing inventory and anxious for us to leave). The restaurants that we ate at had excellent, well-trained wait staff and the food was delicious. We loved the number of trails where you can walk or bike along the bay. You can easily walk from downtown to the bay as well. Ludington Park is spacious and was a comfortable place to sit and read by the water. Portage Point Beach wasn't accessible due to fallen trees along the trail. We'll come back to explore more again. It's a good place to base out of for adventuring to other places in the UP. Definitely visit Escanaba and the Delta County area!
Staff were friendly and accommodating, up to a point. We requested a room move, if possible, from the first which was smokey smelling. But when told our room had a dripping tub faucet, there was no ofter to move us again, because there was no plumber or repair person available to help. The hotel was not fully booked either of the two nights, so maybe they could have tried again... There was a nice sized refrigerator and a small microwave provided.
We stayed here two years ago and really liked the place. We were back in the area, and were excited stay at Terrace Bay, again.
The back-of-the-hotel rooms are now updated, to include a wall of windows looking onto Lake Michigan's Little Bay de Noc!
The restaurant has a wonderful menu and great staff.
Wish we could have stayed longer.
20 minutes to Escanaba. Beautiful beach and yard. Wooded lot. The house is ideal for families and very clean and spacious. Cute bunk room. A portion of the yard is fenced, with a play set, gas and wood fire pit areas. A much better value than the hotels I was looking at.
This has been a consistently great little place to stay. It is an older motel but has been nicely updated and always very clean. The staff are helpful and very friendly. A great place to stay in the Escanaba/Gladstone area. Near everything.
A bargain as well.
The location of this hotel is perfect for getting around in Escanaba/Gladstone area. Very easy to get in and out of the parking lot onto the main road. With the exception of one staff member, everyone I came into contact with was very helpful and pleasant.
The employees were very polite and helpful.
It was very quiet at night even thou the hotel was full. I realize that most places are understaffed
and these workers are doing the best they can to keep up.
Liked the price and the vinyl flooring in room. Have never been in such a budget hotel where the doors don’t slam so bravo to maintenance as I didn’t hear it once and we were next to entrance.
Breakfast and coffee at 5 was FANTASTIC. I’m an early riser and I usually have to go off site to get coffee because most hotels don’t have it available til 7.
