Boardman is a small eastern Oregon town. It is on the way to somewhere. For me it’s a stopover when going to Northern Idaho. The Sleep Inn is a nice addition to the town and I now make it my regular halfway point to rest for the next part of my trip.

Boardman had everything we needed for our vacation.

Boardman had everything we needed for our vacation. We wanted to try the local hamburger spot but we weren't able to sneak it into our schedule. The place always seemed busy and that was a tell tell sign that it was a good spot. The town is so clean and very accessible.

The town is small but our stay along the river was beautiful!!! The smell was only some times annoying, the beauty won us over, at least in our experience. We got coffee at a cute little drive through called Boardman Jumpstart java, the coffee was yummy!

My husband had walked across the street early one morning to get a cup of coffee. He met a man in there who asked him to fish with him & his father. It turned out that the man was a fish guide. He took us fishing for a whole day. He taught us how to catch Walleye fish. He said we were just fishing and refused to let us pay him. We finally got him to accept some money for gas. I believe that says a lot for the people of that area. The guide was from Echo. He was about to become a father for the 1st time. I left feeling as if I'd just added to my family. I believe his name is spelled Brogan, but I could be wrong. A very nice young man.
