location great. pool clean and well cared for. could have benefitted from a good breakfast on sight,. Loved the stories of the ship wrecks on the wall. Loved the boat tour, water falls and the lake and the early am breakfast restaurant near by. Staff could have been more engaging and friendier but they were ok and did their job. How about a guest laundry? And the pool was clean, stocked and nicely maintained and it was open long hours. parking lot in back was ok but more lighting would have been a benefit. Anything could have happened in that parking lot and noone would have known it. Maybe a large and visable camera of parking lot with a sign saying it is watched. But overall a nice property with a great pool.

Munising is beautiful.
Munising is beautiful. We took the Pictured Rock Cruise - strongly suggest everyone do that. We did a lot of hiking so that we could see the falls up close. That was great for our family - ages 9-65 - but you do need to be in shape for a couple of those hikes. Dining is fabulous - every place we went to was amazing! Really encourage you to try the whitefish - even if you are not a 'fish' person. I am not a 'fish' person, but I loved every fish dinner I had (especially the fish Ceaser salad at Duck Pond). Fresh fish is so much better than any frozen product. We stayed at a hotel on the lake - best choice- the views are amazing. Take the trip - there is something for everyone!

Great waterfalls, hiking and riptide ride!
Great waterfalls, hiking and riptide ride! I would like to further explore Grand Island and do more hiking.
The restaurants I dined at were not very good, at all. Munising needs to upgrade their dining options, in my opinion.

Kayaking pictured rock was a must do.
Kayaking pictured rock was a must do. Even for bad kayakers! (With guide). City/town was nice. Restaurants are ok but not a home run for vegetarian but no different than the whole of Michigan except maybe Ann Arbor.

Amazing destination for sightseeing waterfalls and rock...
Amazing destination for sightseeing waterfalls and rock formations. A hidden gem in the United States. If staying in Munising, there is not much for restaurants and/or variety. Check out "ByGeorge Brewing" for hospitality and quality local brew. Department stores are limited to Dollar Generals and small hardware stores. There are a couple grocery stores. People are very nice and genuine.
This is a beautiful hotel in a great location. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was remarkably comfortable and well designed, with balcony views of Lake Superior. We were upgraded to one of their suites because we were celebrating our anniversary (and I’m sure it helped that it was still the off-season). The best restaurant in town is in the same property, and their food is SO good. It’s just a short drive or walk to downtown as well as easy access to Pictured Rocks. We highly recommend the Roam Inn!
It's a simple motel, no microwave or refrigerator. It had two rooms enough for 6 people. It was clean and comfortable close to the center of Munising and very affordable
I choose this motel because they accommodated all of us for the price of one room in other hotels that would have made me pay for two rooms. It wasn't expectacular and there was no breakfast but I wgo back there again any time.
The motel is a classic mid-century motel with plenty of parking. They even have a little area with a firepit and some chairs if you're trying to hang outside. It has a really cool, classic-looking neon motel sign too that's great for photos. The location is great as well, just a stone's throw from all that Munising has to offer and a short drive to Pictured Rocks for great hiking.
As soon as we arrived we were greeting by the employee to check us in. She was so friendly and nice. She interacted well with our son which was the reason we were on the trip for his birthday. We are from Kentucky and have stayed in alot of hotels along the way and we will definitely recommend your place over other places we have stayed just for the friendliness of your staff.
We enjoyed our stay at North Star Hotel Pictured Rocks. The staff was nice and the aircon worked well. It was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good. They used real plates and silverware instead of the plastic ones which I thought was eco friendly. Will definitely stay again.
The room was clean, updated & quiet. The room itself & the bathroom were very spacious. It was the 1st hotel that I ever stayed at that had Spectrum TV so it was easy to figure out the remote & it offered a lot of channels. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely stay again.
The property is a bit older but perfectly maintained. And so very clean. I've stayed in very nice resort type places, chain hotels and none of them compare to the cleanliness of this property. And the staff were so helpful and always kind and pleasant.
The location is beautiful with the bay right out your front door. It is also less than 1/4 mile to the Munising Falls Visitor Center, so the perfect location to catch the backpacking shuttle for the North Country Trail.
The breakfast was great for a continental breakfast, the staff were friendly, rooms really clean and we had an excellent room overlooking the water. If we ever go to Munising again this is where we will stay.
Hotel was new and was perfect location for our trip for going to Pictured rocks national lakeshore. Love the lake view balcony. Would stay there again as we were coming from our stay on Macinaw Island.
The location is fantastic. The rooms are clean and comfortable. To see this hotel from the boat, you could tell this was the best hotel in the area. The breakfast was top-notch.
- It is a nice European-style hotel, very different from the American mass constructions.
- The dinner and cocktails were really good!
- The staff are friendly and helpful!
. View, sunset and porch overlooking the lake were phenomenal. The information about the hotel indicated there was a fire pit to have evening fires but there was none.
The room was clean with a refrigerator and a microwave. It wasn’t as updated as other hotels but the staff was super friendly and the room was clean. A big plus for me.
