The town of Winthrop is one of the many unique small out of the way places that has a fun character harkening back to the early days of this nation. The Town has maintained its small western town identity that can take visitors back to a more simple way of life. Even though it is a bit on the touristy side, it is worth the visit. Most impressive is the mountain range that Winthrop is a gateway to. The North Cascades Highway winds through some of the most awe inspiring landscapes in the USA with its rock formations, lakes, rivers, and dams not to mention the mind numbing hiking trailheads all along the road. My wife and I went for the hikes and were not disappointed. With Winthrop as our base, we could have spent a week hiking.

The people that worked in the cafes, shops, restaurants were exceptional and gave us great service.
The town was clean and beautiful. There was a variety of food, drink, and shopping. The staff at the raft rental were knowledgeable and fun.

Winthrop is a cute little western style town.
Winthrop is a cute little western style town. If you like to meander through shops then this is the place for you. We like to hike and bike and thought the trail maps were very limited as we prefer not to ride on roads or mountain bike, just easy trails. The State Park is beautiful and the lake is large enough to fish, SUP, boat and swim. We will definitely return to the town, as camping opportunities abound.

I absolutely hated this place.
I absolutely hated this place. The room was full of mosquitoes but yet we never got bit outside. The buildings were all in need of repair. The eaves were broken. The pools were all dirty one hot tub was not working. The small pool actually had a dead rabbit stuck in the filter. When we told someone about it nothing was done. We left that same day and forfeited one days stay. We all vomited on the way home three times. I still get an upset stomach every time I think about it. Our family does not make much money and we spent a lot of money here. The money we spent on the e-bikes was not worth it either. In my opinion this is a dead resort and needs to be buried.

Winthrop is a real "western." town.
Winthrop is a real "western." town. We went to the Old School house brewery for a great hamburger and beer made at this facility. Winthrop is right on the road to perhaps the most beautiful mountains in Washington. For motorcycle riders, hiway 20 over Washington Pass to Winthrop is the number one rated ride in the state.
Winthrop Inn is an old hotel, but it is clean, has all the essentials, very welcoming staff. We travelled with three kids for hockey tournament in winter. Breakfast is not provided, but there is microwave and fridge in the room. There is a groceries stores right next to the hotel. A hill behind the hotel next to the river, for snow sledding fun.
Beautiful lodge and terrific staff. It was warm and inviting even though it was so cold outside. Lots of activities for Christmas and if you like cross country skiing they have a great set up. And down in Winthrop you can ice skate or rent snow mobiles. Almost every dish we tried from the 2 restaurants onsite were delish.
Very spacious room with microwave and fridge, bathroom includes a bath tub.
Good complementary breakfast.
Nicely maintained swimming pool, hot tub and sauna.
Good location to the east of North Cascades and close to Winthrop, so easy to go to hikes both inside North Cascades and around Winthrop.
The room was clean, the beds OK, and the bath was OK too. Not enough power outlets, especially at the vanity or next to the nightstand. Some hotels found a way to have power outlets and charging stations included with the nightstand lamps. It would be a great investment for a little money!
Wow. This place is amazing. The cabin is cozy and warm, even with unusually cold temperatures in the valley, and the layout is perfect for preparing our own meals. The bed was comfortable, and the place was clean. It's also close to everything in Winthrop, so we could just walk from there.
My favourite place I’ve stayed in Washington so far. Winthrop is lovely. Breakfast is good but the area to sit is tiny - we had to sit outside and there were lots of wasps around and my friend got a really nasty sting by a wasp that is still stinging over a day later.
very clean. Kitchen area good set up for simple meals using microwave oven. Cute deck to sit on to relax eat a meal. Lots of hiking trails around the area, restaurants close by. Winthrop and Twisp fun to visit
The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Semi-soft and not at all like most hotels where the bed is about as comfortable as a park bench. The internal aesthetics were upscale, but homey. Great location.
Great location close to Winthrop town centre, very quiet.
Enjoyed drinking morning coffee by the river.
Staff very friendly and welcoming and were helpful when I had to change my reservation.
Great value, clean and large room. Winthrop is a gorgeous little town but accommodation is expensive, the Winthrop Inn was value for money. It's a little dated but very clean.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fairly standard - most hotels that offer breakfast have this canned stuff. Other than that, it was a bit overpriced
Lovely breakfast, great location, close on foot to Winthrop and by car to the cascade north trails. Comfy cabin too with a nicely sized kitchenette and ensuite.
The property was very quiet and clean. It is centrally located to the town of Winthrop and not far from Wisp. Both towns had nice shops and good restaurants.
Excellent location steps away from shops and restaurants of downtown Winthrop. Loved the hot tub. Cozy design of cabin. Perfect for couples to get away 🙂
