The Holiday Inn is the closest hotel to Cedarville University and offers special rates for parents and students. We are a host hotel for Wittenberg University, Urbana University, Clark State and nearby Wright State University. The front desk staff was poorly trained and grumpy. Our room had two lights out, one plug that didn't work and the springs could be felt through the bed. The ceiling in the shower was falling down. Pool area had several lights out and the tile around the pool area was broken in several places creating sharp edges. We changed hotels after the first night.

I really wish I didn't have to say this about our experience but if I'm not honest then it can't be fixed. We were told that rooms for our party had been released and some not even confirmed although we had confirmation numbers. How does that happen? The air conditioning in our room did not work. The valve in the shower wouldn't fully engage the shower head because it was broken. The carpeting had not been vacuumed because there was change on the floor in front of the dresser. It appeared that someone tried to pry open the window (most likely due to the out of commission A/C) as the track was all bent up. I used a washcloth and soap to clean something sticky off of the table and other surfaces just in case. I could go on but I'm more than embarrassed that we stayed there. We had no other choice as calling around on Friday evening we could not find another room available. We have resolved to never stay at a Quality Inn Hotel ever again. I am forwarding this review link to the other members in our party so that they can also express their displeasure.

Staff was polite, but the room needed work and the offer was not what I paid for in my reservation. I paid extra for a breakfast voucher that they no longer offered and they did not say anything until I asked that it be removed from my bill. They also have "safe fee" that is auto added to your bill unless you notice it on your bill or notice a sign that they have on the desk telling you that you have to "ask" to have it removed. The wallpaper in the room is lifting from the walls and there was mildew in the bathroom around the lifting. The bathroom light was also cracked and the bathroom was dim. The bedspreads looked like they had been thrown in a corner and just put back on the beds. They where all wrinkled like they had been used many times and never cleaned. The sheets seemed to have been fresh however. No towels at the pool and the water was murky. Had to check a few vending machines to find one working. Stains on the hall carpet in several areas. The staff was friendly, but I would not stay here again.
