Property Description
The agriturismo Casale della Staffa is a typical Umbrian farm dating from 1440 and transformed into an elegant country residence where the guests are warmly welcomed in a homely atmosphere. The hotel is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, being part of the medieval estate „Conti Conestabile della Staffa“ which has been owned by this family for over 500 years. Ideally situated in the green heart of Umbria, the Casale is located in the hilly surroundings of Montemelino di Magione, between the lake Trasimeno and the historical town of Perugia and its many attractions. It is an ideal base from which to visit the cities of art in Umbria and Tuscany, such as Perugia, Assisi, Spello, Todi, Cortona, Florence and Siena among many others as well as important cultural events such as the Umbria Jazz Festival, Euro chocolate, Trasimeno Blues and other special exhibitions.
The main building comprises five large rooms, one suite, two self-catering apartments and various cosy lounge areas. Like the main building, the additional annexes were finely restored, and turned into independent cottages with kitchenette.
All rooms and apartments are bright, airy and elegantly furnished with antiques and artisanal furniture, ironwork, and traditional Umbrian loom weaved fabrics for a tasteful and cozy feeling of home away from home.
Two very large common rooms and a beautifully tended private fenced park, can be utilized for family or group gatherings and intimate wedding or birthday parties, (the building can sleep up to 30 people and up to 100 guests fit comfortably at tables set both inside or outside)
Our guests can enjoy delicious breakfasts with typical products and home made jams and cakes, they have also access to a coffee and tea station, guest refrigerator, secure parking, laundry facilities and internet access.
Our friendly staff who speak fluent english, german and french, is at your service to make arrangements prior to your arrival and tend to any of your needs during your stay. Some extra services we are happy to offer to our guests are: providing information on local events and the surrounding area, help with car, bicycle and scooter rentals, restaurant reservations, concert and museum tickets.
At your request, your favourite foods, flowers, beverages and necessities, including any of the organic and artisanal groceries, wines and products, will be stocked in your room, apartament or cottage just prior to your arrival. Complete room service is available for our guests for the occasions when an intimate in-residence light meal or snack sounds like the most indulgent and comfortable dining option.
The Casale features also a panoramic swimming pool with a large sun terrace, overlooking the vineyard and the olive groves.
This is a place where time seems to stand still, where the old ways of life are not forgotten and rural charm rules the day; where everyone lives the good life because it is the only one they know. Lazy days are spent walking the vineyards, picnicking under our ancient olive trees or biking the hills. A game of bocce or a swim help pass the hours before a beautiful evening.
