The front desk staff is courteous and professional. Amenities are basic, and include complimentary wi-fi and a breakfast pastry delivered to your room. Enjoy it in one of their courtyards, or in your room. Canal Street and the Arts & Warehouse District are both a few blocks away. This hotel does not offer distractions; the world outside your door will take care that. The St. James does provide comfortable accommodations without being overly indulgent.
