The Meteora monuments are among the most important historic monuments of the world and belong to the UNESCO World heritage monuments.They are the most important monuments in the area of Thessalia (Central Greece) and one of the most distinguished monuments in Greece. The Meteora Monasteries and Nunneries, built on top of the rocks are the most important monastic complex in Greece second only to Saint Athos. For more than 600 years there had been a flourishing community of 24 Monasteries and a number of individual “sketes” and hermitages. Initially monks used to asend the rocks using scaffoldings supported by beams embedded in the rocks and later nets and rope ladders were used. Nowadays there are only 4 Monasteries and 2 Nunneries. The Monasteries and Nunneries are nowadays easily accessible through a well- maintained road network and staircases carved inside the rocks ensure a safe ascent to the top of the rocks.

Hotel Meteora is built on the highest point to the small picturesque village Kastraki, which gives the visitors the opportunity to have a bird's view of the historic Meteora Rocks, from every single corner of the hotel. It opened in July 2006 and boasts both comfort and recreation facilities. Combines craftsmanship, luxury and natural beauty. Special attention has been given to detail in decoration. Hotel Meteora has 60 rooms: double/twin-bed rooms, 3-bed rooms, 4-bed rooms, family rooms and suites, all of them with possibility of adding an extra bed upon request at a minimum charge. All rooms are equipped with the latest amenities and provides excellent reception and relaxation services. The hotel boasts indoor and outdoor spaces. The interior area is decorated in tasteful minimal style combining the picturesque landscape of the region. The hallways are decorated with exquisite photographs. In the indoor facilities are included: 24hour-service reception, lift, restaurant with menu a la carte and kid's menu, café bar, fireplace in the lobby, indoor gym, luggage storage, congress and banqueting facilities.
