Property Description
Located next to two traditional villages, Matana Beach Resort is a great place to experience the real Fiji. With its convenient location only 5 km from Vunisea, we also offer easy boat access to the island's only town and airport. Kadavu is connected to Nadi international airport by daily flights except on Sundays. One flight a week and passenger ferries from Suva are also an option.
Accommodation is in 8 Beachfront and 2 Oceanview Bures (Fijian bungalows). 8 bures have an open plan bedroom/lounge area with bathroom. Two Beachfront bures are ideal for a group of friends or a family with two separate bedrooms, separate lounge and bathroom each. The bures are comfortable and spacious, with balcony or deck and fan in each room. Divers are well catered for, with all Beachfront accommodation providing external rinse showers and lockers for dive equipment.
Our prices include 3 meals daily - cooked and continental breakfast, lunch, 3-course dinner, tea/coffee/breakfast beverages. There are no shops and no roads nearby - a perfect Getaway.
The whole resort can be booked exclusively for your group with a minimum of just 5 bures or 10 adults. We offer a special group discount: For 6 paying adults, one extra group member can stay and eat free of charge, for 10 paying adults, two extra members can stay and eat free of charge. For 6 or more paying divers, the free deal applies also to diving.
Dive Kadavu, our on-site PADI dive center, offers diving on a variety of dive sites close-by as well as dive courses. Most of our dive sites are only 5 to 15 minutes from the Resort but we also dive on the Great Astrolabe Reef and other reefs around Kadavu. Matana Beach Resort is enjoyed by divers and non-divers alike: relax in a hammock or on the beautiful all-tide beach, explore the snorkelling spots just a few meters from shore or venture further with a sea kayak, take a walk to the hill tops behind the resort to catch the breathtaking views over the bay and watch the sun set over the sea from the beach bar.
Green Sustainability
We use solar and wind energy for some of our electricity needs. Our gardens are spray free. We recycle and use natural alternatives to any chemicals wherever possible. We have been involved in marine conservation right from the start and help to protect the reef by putting moorings on all our dive sites, encourage environmental awareness amongst guest divers as well as the local village. Almost all of our fruit and vegetables are sourced locally if not from our own garden.
