"Wonder Experience! Great Staff! Terrific Food! Awesome Location! Loved it All!"
Overall Score5.0/ 5
I want to give a big "Thank You" to Leslie/Lorenzo/Coleman and their staff for a job well done! I hosted my family reunion at this hotel this past weekend and we had the best time. The staff was very accommodating and have exceptional service! Lorenzo the food was so delicious! My family is still talking about it. Leslie is the best as she helped me from start to finish. I could not have asked for a better coordinator! I recommend this hotel to anyone and you will not be disappointed! Great job everyone!

"Scout Trip to Savannah."
Overall Score3.0/ 5
We booked six rooms at the Holiday Inn Savannah Historic District. The hotel has a good location to the downtown area and is within walking distance to many local attractions. It sits next door to the Maritime Museum. It is two blocks from City Market. It is three to four blocks from River Street. Several options for restaurants close by (walking distance). Check in was quick and easy. Rooms for comfortable. Restaurant was a little less desirable. On the second night some of us decided to get dinner (3 adults and two children) children are supposed to eat free; so the kids menu says they have chicken nuggets, pizza, cheeseburger and grill cheese but on this night they did not have chicken nuggets or pizza so one of the children ordered fries (which we were charged $4 for) and the other ordered grill cheese, however, she did not receive the grill cheese until after everyone else finished eating. two of us ordered the fried pimento cheese and wings, fries and two bowls of fruit, the "Fried" Pimento Cheese was cold and the wings were pink on the inside. It also took 20 minutes to get our drinks. Our ticket was $50. Part of the problem was the bartender was also the waitress. We did eat breakfast one morning and it was good. It cost $12.95 per person. On our 3rd day when we came back from a full day of activities, one of our chaperones went to her room and the hotel had put someone else in her room and her key did not work and a women opened the door and said it was her room so my mom told the lady well that is my luggage. the hotel gave the people another room and after a little time chaperone mom was able to get back in her room. The hotel did credit me two nights for this mix up. Then our bus driver and left dropped us off on Thursday and returned on Sunday to take to Tybee Island for our last day of our trip, so the room I had initially booked for him was going to be empty so myself and my daughter utilized this room Thurs, Fri and Saturday and then on Sunday morning we put our luggage in the room with the original people we had planned to room with so the driver could have his room on Sunday night. I placed the card on the bed so they would change the sheets. When we returned to the hotel at 6pm the driver's room had not been cleaned and some of the housekeeping had stuck the do not disturb sign in the door so it wouldn't be cleaned (I assume they thought we left before our check out day), so my bus driver had been up for 20 hours and just needed a place to sleep, I went and told housekeeping his room needed to be cleaned, an hour later it still had not been cleaned so I went down to the front desk and explained and they called housekeeping and got them to clean the room. So the next morning we were checking out and returning home at 8am and I get a call from the bus driver, the hotel had our bus towed because they said he didn't let valet park it or something so we had to pay $250.00 to get the bus back. I could understand if the bus was blocking spaces or anything but there were at least 40 to 50 spaces in this parking lot and there were probably a maximum of 10 cars parked here the five days we were there. Then I received the bills by email today and I see I was charged for valet parking for two days.

"Good Location but Pricey"
Overall Score3.0/ 5
Good location but breakfast and dinner are over priced. Toilet paper is so far from toilet you have to really reach far to get it. Husband and others got trapped in elevator, called front desk and were told they were busy so they would have to wait a little longer. Very clean rooms and hotel.

"Ruined Wedding Weekend due to Amanda and Shanese."
Overall Score1.0/ 5
I would like to do a review on my stay at the Holiday Inn located at 520 West Bryan Street, Savannah Georgia. Prior to our wedding day we chose this hotel to house all of our guest that were traveling in from out of town. It was important for us to have someplace nice as many of our guest traveled from 12-15 hours away. We made all of our arrangements in advance through the Sales Director Mrs. Leslie Dean. Leslie was more than helpful and accommodating. However disaster came on the day prior and on the day of our wedding. Amanda the assistant general manager was awful from the start. Amanda would not do anything that was agreed upon in our contract. I had to spend several hours the day prior to my wedding on the phone with her just to get our guests breakfast. I pleaded with her to give Leslie a call to clear up the obvious mix up, however she refused and requested that we pay for all of our guest breakfast. Amanda wanted us to pay for our guest to eat and then when we agreed she would not allow us to pay by phone, big inconvenience. We agreed only because we told our guest it was included, however Amanda stated that it was not. Meanwhile our guest could not eat breakfast. We were told that our guest credit cards would not be charged until checkout, however Amanda started charging several guest 48 hours prior to their stay and was holding an insane amount of money for incidentals that has still not been refunded. Many of our guest rooms were nasty, room 237 had hair all over the floor and bathtub. Room 503 did not have a working showerhead and room 326 toilet did not flush. When two of my guests arrived, they were given the key to room 526 that was already occupied by another customer, we saw all of their belongings in the room, not safe. Even though this hotel has gone through renovations, it is still awful. Please do not book this for your wedding guest. Amanda allowed Shanese, one of the desk workers to be extremely rude to us. Shanese had a very nasty mouth and had a horrible attitude and would not wait on us, she kept asking the customers standing in line behind us if they needed help and Amanda allowed her to do it and did not correct her or tell her to be quite, from blatantly making negative comments. Shanese does not need to work in customer service, I have never in 42 years been in a place where the desk clerk is allowed to curse the customers in front of the assistant general manager and nothing happens and this is all on our wedding day. I asked several times to speak with the general manager, I was not allowed to. I know that through being in the military everyone has a boss and even those placed in charged need oversight, I also know through lots of traveling, this was not how it is suppose to go. Amanda was not a good representation on a manager in the hospitality industry. Shanese truly needs to be fired for her comments and actions. Amanda needs to be reprimanded for her actions and treatment of guest as well. Again, I am in the military and know that even the boss has a boss and I will proceeded until I am able to speak with the boss, because this hotel ruined our wedding weekend. Please do not book this hotel for any event. It is okay if you want poor customer service. Luckily we were able to book our wedding night at the Andaz in city market in Savannah and are currently enjoying our honeymoon with our butler service at Sandals Royal Bohemian Resort in the Bahamas. Please do not book at the Holiday Inn at 520 West Bryan Street in Savannah, Georgia. We had Springhill Suites as our back up and truly regret not going with them. Save yourself the trouble.
