"Between average and very good, but that's not an option."
Overall Score3.0/ 5
We stayed there two nights in mid June. We would probably stay there again. I mistakenly selected a smoking room and they did not work with me to change rooms on either night even though I tried on two occasions to switch rooms (they said they were full on a Friday and Saturday night). The pool is better than average. The pool area is well laid out with privacy walls between it and the parking lot. There's an outside spa too. The pool needs more tables and more umbrellas at the tables. Also, the outside tables (including those in the gazebo) need wiped/cleaned more often during the day, each day, and all of the outside ashtrays need emptied more frequently too. The hotel is woefully short of luggage carts, so we ended up waiting to take our luggage up to our room and then hauled it down ourselves without a cart via multiple trips when we departed (using a very slow elevator). It's walkable to a few restaurants, including Village Tavern, Blue, Moe's and Applebees, as well as a nice drug store. Room windows (with screens) can be opened, which we like and made use of throughout, even though you can hear the hum of surrounding streets and I-40. This hotel is pet-friendly (we saw and heard a lot of dogs) and smoker-friendly, so if that's not your thing this is not your hotel.
