ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS GUIDANCE 1.All contractors should observe the Hotel’s Environmental Policy and endeavor to comply with its requirements.2.All contractors should comply with the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements and relevant requirements of the Hotel’s EMS.3.While working on site, all contractors are required to ensure that all chemicals (e.g. paints, thinner, detergent, lubricating oil, etc) and chemical waste should be properly stored and handled with care to avoid spillage. In case of spillage, the contractors should inform the Hotel’s relevant personnel immediately for appropriate cleanup action. Chemical waste should not be disposed of within the Hotel and should disposed of by a licensed contractor.4.The discharge of any chemicals and chemical waste into the drains is prohibited.5.All solid waste should be properly handled, stored and disposed of off site by the concerned contractor(s) 6.All noisy work should only be carried out between 8:00 am to 8:00 p.m. and the noise level must be kept below 70dB. Quiet equipment (e.g. silencer, acoustic lining, etc) and operation process should be used where practicable.7.All air pollutants emitting works such as woodcutting and paint spraying should be properly confined and dust suppression measure (e.g. enclosure, water spray, etc) should be provided.8.Prior approval on the use of CFC containing equipment or products on-site should be sought from the Hotel.9.All construction of decorative materials used should be environmentally friendly where practicable (e.g. water-soluble paints, wood from renewable forests, etc).10.The consumption of water and electricity should be sparingly used.11.The production of solid waste, air pollutants, noise emissions and wastewater should be minimized while carrying out the work within the Hotel.
