The Le Meridien is a great choice for the business or leisure traveler, definitely on the upper end of a 4 star rating. Corporate groups will love this hotel's crisp, uncluttered, ergonomic style. Leisure travelers will love the proximity to major downtown attractions (just a couple of blocks away from the Embarcadero and the Transamerica Pyramid), and the willingness to cut room rates drastically on the weekends. This hotel has wonderfully large, airy rooms, my favorite feature being the floor-to-ceiling windows that extend out (instead of going straight across) to create an impressive panorama view. I was not able to see all of the hotel's function space, although I am told they have an excellent setup for both corporate meetings and social gatherings (such as weddings receptions). Groups might consider shying away from this hotel if staying the heart of downtown makes them nervous. A Financial District location means lots of hustle and bustle during the day, and a careful eye when walking around at night. In general, this is a high quality hotel that I would recommend for any group, especially when their lowered weekend rates creates amazing value.
