We booked 50 rooms here for our wedding. The booking was handled fairly smoothly, with some minor hiccups in their online service. Some people had difficulty booking online and had to email the hotel. Arrival and check in was easy and to my knowledge no one in our party had difficulty with that step. Our point person at the hotel, Molly, was very kind and helpful. She went out of her way to solve any little issue we had and was always available to help. The people at the front desk were generally helpful, as well. The hotel, though very chic looking, is somewhat lacking in polish. It's clear they didn't use the best materials in all the construction and decoration. This stood out in stark contrast to other trendy boutique hotels like the Ace, which feels very well thought out down to every little detail. Then again, that's a much more expensive hotel. If I were to suggest anything to the ownership of the Cambria, it would be to invest in the little things that make a hotel feel just perfect. Nicer soaps, softer bedding, nicer furniture and carpeting, curated music, etc. Perhaps it requires paying a very expensive interior designer, but I'd say it's worth it. It's something people notice. The Premier King suite was large, but not as big as we expected. The layout is odd: the regular sized sleeping area is separated from a somewhat dark and uninviting couch sitting area by a narrow hallway. Clearly an adjacent room is cutting into the space, causing there to be the narrow hallway. It would be much better if they just eliminated the neighboring room and expanded their Premier King Suite. This is after all a bridal suite and should feel, well, amazing. There is very little clothing storage in all the rooms, which is an issue when you're there for five nights with a bunch of wedding event clothes. The bed was comfortable, but not what I would call luxurious. Our view was OK. I wish the window opened. The hotel restaurant is not good by New Orleans standards. They were missing lots of items and ingredients the whole time we were there. Also the bar is very expensive for NOLA and not at all the kind of place I'd want to hang out given the better neighborhood options. The location of the hotel is great for Warehouse District dining and fairly close to the French Quarter. All in all, I'd recommend this hotel to someone on a budget, but still wants a unique place to stay. I'd also recommend it to a group that wants to book lots of rooms. It doesn't have a lot of the creature comforts of the bigger chains or the more expensive boutiques, but it's a nice place with good service and it's in a good location.
