The Spirit of the Smokies Condo Lodge is located closer to the north side of Pigeon Forge, but still convenient to anything you could wish to do in the area. Additionally, the Wood Grill Buffett shares a parking lot with this hotel, and guests get discounted dining vouchers for this restaurant. The building is a little older, but is being renovated/added onto. Rooms are still in good shape, and are unique in that every third room contains a kitchen, and all contain connecting doors. So, you could technically pay for three adjoining rooms, and end up with a fully-furnished, two bedroom suite – with a third bed in the living room area. Breakfast is not included at this hotel so I would recommend getting rooms with kitchens if possible and make your own. In the summer of 2014, the hotel will be opening a lazy river and new swimming area. This was under construction during my visit, and appeared to be nearly complete. It also looked to be fairly good sized. PROS: Good location, excellent rate for what you get, discounted dining at Wood Grill Buffet, new pool area opening soon CONS: Older building (still in good shape), breakfast not included in the rate
