Mesquite is a small city in Clark County, the state of Nevada, adjacent to the Arizona state line and 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas on Interstate 15. It is home to several golf courses, as well as the Wolf Creek Golf Club and a growing number of retirement communities. The area was first settled by Mormon pioneers in the 1880s. Mesquite is served by the Mesquite Airport, which has scheduled commercial flights to Las Vegas. The airport is owned by the City of Mesquite and is operated by the Mesquite Aviation Department. The city is home to the Virgin Valley Heritage Museum, which chronicles the past of the Mesquite region. It houses a collection of artifacts, documents, and photographs that tell the story of the Virgin Valley and its people. The museum offers a diversity of educational programs and events that are open to the public. The city is home to the Mesquite Senior Services and the Mesquite Recreation Center. The Mesquite Senior Services is a place where older citizens can come to socialize, stay active, and enjoy a diversity of things to do. The location offers a lot of programs for seniors, including exercise classes, computer classes, game nights, and more. The Mesquite Recreation Center is a place where the whole family can take pleasure in a variety of recreational activities. Mesquite has a small town feel, hardly any traffic, we can get to anywhere in the city easily, the restaurants and stores around town are great, hardly any waiting in line. There is everything you need close at hand. Mountains are beautiful with cactus and flowers all in bloom. Riding on the designated trails was great. We enjoyed having the experience. We do it once or twice a year here.
