I have stayed here for several weeks and have extended my stay a few more weeks until my new home is ready. I have really enjoyed my stay here. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The location is convenient to stores, restaurants and it is a safe secure area of Atlanta. I am in a comfortable one room studio. It is especially well designed and decorated. I have a queen size bed, a comfortable desk, a table to eat on, a large dresser, a comfortable chair with ottoman, closet with ironing board and iron, There is an efficiency kitchen with a full size fridge, stove top, toaster, including a sink with dishes and pots to cook with silverware, cups and plates. The bathroom is a good size with a full tub. My cat is enjoying staying here also. The rates are very reasonable. I highly recommend this place and really want to express my appreciation to the staff for all there help and friendly smiles. I was on crutches the whole time I was here due to a foot injury. An especial thanks to Issac the manager, Menna the fix-it man, and to all the front desk help especially Sharron. « less

I stayed for 4 months on business. Requested a new room upon arrival due to smell. Never got moved to a different room despite several requests to the front desk. Never got a call back to say "Hey - we have a room available, do you want it?" Every time (12 times) I called to request a new room, was told there were no non-smoking rooms available. Gave up trying after first 2 months. Room service once a week if that. There were three weeks where I did not get fresh towels or room service. Some shady characters in the parking lot and at night. Washing machine and dryers do not work. They are extremely outdated and my clothes would have ended up worse for wear by using them. (there is a laundromat close by up Buford Hwy by Lee's Bakery). I did not have hot water for two days, which was not corrected by management despite letting them know. If you can overlook these things, it is in a good location right off I-85. I ended up minimizing as much time in the hotel as possible and only went there to sleep (with my own blankets). « less

I stayed here 3 nights on business. Location was great with easy access to interstate I-85 to Northlake, Perimeter, Lenox Square and downtown Atlanta. Hotel is outdated--old carpet and furnishings in rooms and lobby--no automatic doors at entrance or overhead covered entranceway so unloading and managing luggage not easy. Gated front entrance with key card was a welcomed security feature. Stop light at intersection also provided easy access to Clairmont Rd, a plus during mad rush hour traffic. Hotel also close to Grocery store, gas stations, and fast food. Room was clean but carpet was old and did not look clean. Room furniture looked like it was purchased at a used hotel funiture store and recovered chair had stains on arms. Having kitchenette was great for simple meals in-room, but odors of other guests cooking filled the hall ways. If you don't like the smell of curry or foreign foods, this may not be your ideal place to stay. Bed was not as comfortable as a Hampton Inn, but linens were clean. Bath towels were NOT soft--very scratchy but plenty were provided. Need to bring your own hairdryer--or request one from front desk. In wall heater was noisy. Definately NOT a plush stay, but if you want an extended stay and option to cook in your room, this place is a good choice. « less

I think that its convenient, the staff was awesome very attentive, courteous, to all my needs. I had two complaints and they were resolved so quickly it was as if it never happened! I enjoyed having the WiFi, nothing on TV so was able to get some work done and watch my Netflix! They supply dishes, toaster, coffee maker, and microwave. It really is convenient to have a night in with a movie. Overall I would recommend very cost effective for a family, a bit pricey but comfortable experience! « less

I reserved a Non-Smoking Studio Queen room, weeks in advance, at the Clairmont Extended Stay location. The night I checked in, in January 2013, I found I’d been given a smoking room, and was offered no workable solution by the manager. I phoned the head office right away, and was given no help at all.
While on the phone with the completely unhelpful customer service department , I had time to absorb the overwhelming negatives of this hotel: the strange men loitering in the lobby, hovering too close to the reservation desk; the loud man walking up and down the corridor, yelling into his phone; the smoke detector dangling by its wires from the ceiling; the sticky carpet I wouldn’t dare set a bare foot upon; the beaten furniture; and finally, the unmistakable stench of stale smoke. The whole establishment was rundown, reeking of an utter lack of care. I’ve stayed at many long-term-stay hotels over the past 20 years, on business travel, and this, by far, was the worst I’ve ever seen.
I could not possibly stay there. That night, I was completely inconvenienced and obliged to make other impromptu arrangements elsewhere immediately, at great additional financial and time expense.
For these reasons, I can only give this hotel the poorest rating. « less
