Open courtyard motel in fantastic downtown location, with frig, micro, hair dryer, irons/ironing boards and HBO in every room, outdoor seasonally heated pool, continental breakfast, hi speed internet access, laundry facility etc.
In these tough times, we offer a great way to save money and still sleep on a new pillow top bed with fitted sheets.

I got tired of staying at chain motels for the "points" programs during our monthly-or-so visits to Eugene. The dance we go to changed its venue, and we found the Broadway Inn nearby on Google Maps. The reviews were good, and it's part of the Magnuson Hotels network of independent motels--where you can get a discount every time, without waiting for your points to add up for that one "free" night. And the place itself is great! We'll definitely be making this our regular stop in Eugene.
It's an older motel that has been recently updated with relatively inexpensive but good quality finishes and fixtures. It's clearly well-maintained, and our room was immaculate. The staff is bright and cheerful, and the amenities are impressive for the price. For the wi-fi you will be given a log-in code generated just for you. We had a little trouble getting logged on when we first tried it late at night; it seemed as if the two of us couldn't both be logged on at the same time using the one log-in we were given. Staff said they didn't think it should have been a problem, but they'd be happy to issue us separate log-ins next time. In the morning my partner had no trouble with it, so maybe it was just a glitch.
We were told that each room is a little different. We were in #56, a non-smoking two-queen room that was almost a suite, it was so spacious. There were two arm-chairs, plus a nook for a desk, and an almost-kitchenette adjacent to the bathroom with a fridge, microwave, and table. Note that you do *not* have a coffee-maker in the room (this was not a deal-breaker for us). We also had a very large closet. And, rare for any motel/hotel, there is *overhead* lighting, not just dinky lamps leaving the room gloomy with the curtains drawn. *And* the curtains did a good job of closing completely and effectively darkening the room (something that even expensive hotels can't always claim). Although you're right off a main throughway at the edge of campus, we heard very little noise inside our room. The floors were a bit creaky in spots, but for what we paid with the Magnuson discount to stay in such a convenient location we were **very** happy.
We didn't get to try the outdoor pool (with its own pool-house changing room, and towels provided at the pool), but it looked delightful. We also didn't try the continental breakfast, but they were putting away some very nice-looking fruit when we went to check out after breakfast had closed. If you're a tea drinker, the Bigelow teas are a nice touch.
The only catch was actually getting into the property by car. If you're approaching from the east (e.g., from I-5), you have to go past it and either pull a U-turn or otherwise turn around to come back and enter the parking lot. Once we figured this out, we were fine. :)
If you're looking for a cheaper place to stay near campus and downtown in Eugene that will be clean, comfortable and professionally maintained and still have some character, the Broadway Inn is for you! It's definitely for us. « less

Stayed here for one night in April, 2013. It's really like going back to hotel travel of 30 years ago as you park literally at your door, and the room fittings and furnishings are older, but clean and functional. The front desk staff could not have been friendlier, and very much add to the enjoyment of the stay. Our room did have a refrigerator and microwave and an older TV, but they did function and the only cleanliness issue in the room was by one bedside table there was an odd smell of something that had not been completely cleaned up, but overall we have no complaints and would definitely stay there again next time we go to Eugene.
An added bonus is you can get a bike rental delivered to (and paid at) the hotel, which is very convenient as there is an extensive network of separate bike paths the can be accessed just a few blocks away from the hotel. « less

Second stay here and will stay again due to walking convenience of good university campus restaurants. Clean, relatively quiet, good value. Nice reception on arrival. Lots of security cameras. Unfortunately a lot of guests cannot read the 'no smoking within 10 feet of building' signs, and are unwilling to take advantage of the covered, seated, central smoking area they graciously provide. Subsequently, cigarette smoke can get sucked into your room air vent by inconsiderate idiots. We let our brain damaged neighbors know their smoke was not something we wanted to share and they reluctantly slithered away. In room mini fridge and microwave made leftovers a great breakfast. We did not take advantage of continental breakfast provided. Starbucks one block away. « less

Coming from out of state for a trade show, so really a guess where to stay in Eugene. The rooms were clean, and orderly. The bathroom had no heat, cold tile floors, no rug because the door opens and pushes anything out of the way. The shower of course was horrible, cold spray from the poorly installed shower head and the fact it took about five minutes for shower hot water to show up and stand to take one. No place to put your shaving bag or purse in the bathroom, no counter at all. The heat for the room comes from the Amana unit below the window by the door. While sleeping, when the unit comes on you get a blast of cold air until it warms up and then it still isn't really warn air continually blasting you in bed. No adjustment on airflow. Wear ear plugs if you have this thing on, its loud along with the blast of air it will wake you up every time it comes on throughout the night. Sounds like an angry refer with a fan blower. Continental breakfast... just bagels, bananas, cream cheese, jam, butter horns, toaster and coffee, had enough three days later and you have to go back to your room and eat, no place to sit. It was a cheap place to stay and there is some good food places walking distant. « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"It was so nice to just put up what I wanted and you contacted the hotel for me. I had spent hours trying to find hotels for my wedding and this was so much easier. Thanks!" B.M. - Anaheim Hills, CA
"When people provide customer friendly service in today’s world, it should be applauded! So many businesses have taken almost and adversarial attitude towards the customer, in other words, they over compensate for a consumer not following through. As a business, it is my understanding, that the business should always follow through and do as they promise! Loyalty between consumers and businesses should remain alive, profit above service is a bad plan and will cost the business in the long run!" R.F. - Denver, CO
