I come to Downey on business about twice a month. I usually stay two to three nights. Studio Inn and Suites has provided me with a convenient location and great room each time. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. They are constantly upgrading and this keeps my experience fresh and new. Recently they have introduced a new bed covering that adds a nice touch of grace along with expanding their televison service. Many, many more channels to select from. They always have great internet service if you need to work or just surf. I, also, have to mention that their rates are very affordable and a big plus! :) « less

We were able to easily travel to Disney Land and Universal Studio from this location. The trip to Sea world was far , but that was ok, we enjoyed the ride too. « less

Had to find local motel while family member was at Downey Kaiser for surgery....needed a quiet place to catch sleep (sometimes in middle of day) - just what I was looking for. Quiet, large room, very clean, great shower/bath and nice TV helped make this a perfect and reasonably priced motel. Embassy suites was over $100 more a nite and couldn't have been that much nicer. Continental breakfast was simple yet fast and ample parking (free!) - small/clean pool too!! « less

We researched accommodations for our week long trip to Downey, and found this 2 1/2 star property to have great reviews. We had never stayed in the area before, so wasn't sure what to expect. Upon driving up, we found a clean, well maintained 2 story motel. The motel surrounds the parking lot for the most part, but the ice machine is in the entry right off the street. As we drove up some kids were playing in the ice machine. When an employee came out, they took off down the road. Not using the ice machine this trip! As we walked to our room, the pool area was clean and inviting, however the pool itself appeared to have a film on it and had lots of bugs floating in it. There was a skimmer net available to use; and the explanation for the film was the chemicals they use. We went to our room, and while clean, efficient and just as described, it was very dark and gloomy. I liked the decor and it was obvious they were trying to upgrade them. it just needed a lot more lighting. One bed was soft, the other hard. Three assorted pillows on each bed, with very soft sheets (although one of them was torn). I'm a sheet snob, and overall I was very happy with these sheets. Unfortunately, there were no blankets, each bed had a very thin bedspread and a decorative coverlet at the bottom. The exterior bedding looks nice on the beds, just not very comfortable as it is thin and scratchy. There were a number of things that we loved in the room - the blackout drapes, the mini refrigerator, microwave and tv to name a few. Even though the motel is located on a busy street, you don't hear the traffic. If on the bottom floor, you do hear people walking in the room above you. The first night was bad, but after that got used to it I guess! The customer service here was fantastic. Everyone we came in to contact with was friendly and helpful. Yes, their continental breakfast was very limited; but I was just happy the muffins were individually wrapped and they had fresh coffee. All in all, not knowing the area, I was hesitant to stay here at first. The price was good, but I didn't consider it a 2 1/2 star property. I have to say though, after discussing with other family members staying in the area what their lodging was like; and seeing for myself the other options available, I was very happy we had chosen to stay here. « less

It also great to hear that at first you were hesitant to stay at Studio Inn and Suites, but that your opinion changed once you saw the layout of the room and the amenities we have in every single room. As you became aware, we are a recently remodeled hotel, as all of our rooms come with a flat screen television (HD channels included), free Wi-Fi, parking and continental breakfast. We do have a twenty-four hour front desk that could have easily taken a few extra blankets to your room. Finally, we are extemely delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at our property and that you found our accommodations to your liking.
