We very much enjoyed our 2 night stay and would return without hesitation. Our room was on the 3rd floor (#25) and loved its spaciousness, big picture windows looking onto St Charles Street, updated furniture & carpeting, bedding, jacuzzi and most of all its cleanliness. There wasn't an issue with street noise, we didn't hear a thing. What we did enjoy was watching the trolley cars go by, the view of beautiful magnolia trees that line the street and the convenience of restaurants, coffee shops and stores all within walking distance. An added bonus on Friday afternoon was a bride & groom in a horse carriage on St. Charles Street--so lovely and romantic. I wonder how much the hotel had to pay them? LOL. As others have said, the trolley car stops in front of the hotel (which we used several times) and if you're returning from an evening in the french quarter, the taxi ride back cost us $10 including tip. We previously stayed in the french quarter on Bourbon Street so this hotel was a quiet and peaceful relief. The valet guys were friendly and efficient too. Overall, very pleased. « less

Okay i swear I am not a snob but the hotel is really dirty looking including the front door, It is right on the border of a nice and horrible area but across the street is a subway with some real sketchy characters.Restuarant inside looks kind of dicey not attracting the classiest customer. Next to the hotel are two alley ways one a hall way that looks really strange and the other a parking plagued with garbage. Rooms are large but so, so old and not in the vintage kind of way. Our room which was on 2nd floor (#8)was right next to elevator and everytime someone got in it heard it running all night. Our window overlooked the roof which was horrendoug Also heard water running from other rooms. Our maid made up our room at 5:00 at night. Is that acceptable? Dont stay here. I think we paid close to $150/ a night. Horrible..just horrible. I never do these reviews bet felt it my duty to worn unknowing travelers. The one good thing is the desk person got us cabs very quiciy when we need them. « less

I am so sorry you had a bad experience at our property. I have spoken to housekeeping about your review and have instructed them on proper time management. Our housekeepers typically leave at 5:00pm, so I am not exactly sure why it was cleaned so late, but I can assure it will not happen again. I am also sorry you felt your room needed an update. I do hope you noticed that our carpet was brand new. It was installed less than a month ago. We will begin painting and replacing our bedding within the next few months. I am also sorry you felt the area was "sketchy." We are located in the garden district which is a histroric district in the city of new orleans. We are located in a building that was originally the largest mercedes dealership in new orleans. I do want to make note that our hotel is located in between St. Andrew street and another building. I am not exactly sure of the alleyway you are reffereing. I again am so sorry you were not happy with your stay here. I do want to assure you that this is not a normal experience at our property. We have a manager on staff at all times and would have loved to have the opportunity to make it right before you left us. I do hope you will give us a chance the next time you are in the area, If you would like to discuss your experience furthur, don't hesitate to call me at (504)-558-9966 ext.101. Sincerely, Geoffrey D Taylor Assistant General Manager Clarion Grand Boutique Hotel

Five of us went on a girls weekend and stayed at the Clarion Grand Boutique. We enjoyed our stay very much and had a great time. It is located in the garden district right on St. Charles. The steetcar has a stop right in front of the hotel and every couple of blocks there after. This street car takes you directly to bourbon street and canal for only 3 dollars for an all day pass. Which is good for any street car or bus in town. There is a Walgreens two blocks away and a little neighborhood grocery store in the other directions about three blocks away. If you are looking for a nice place to stay, out of the noise and craziness of the quarter, this is the place for you. If you want to be in the excitement, noise, and walking distance to the quarter, this is not the place for you. The rooms are different sizes ( we had two different rooms between us) but furnished really well along with microwave, fridge, lots of counter space, and coffee. Yes, the carpet and bathroom floors could use updating but I heard they are "in the process" right now. The continental breakfast has a little more variety than most. (eggs, sausage, frenchtoast) The staff was helpful. The valet guys were great. Friendly and very personable. The front desk girls were a little more quite and to themselves but not rude. Now Geoffrey, ( i believe he is the manager) is the bomb. He is funny, personable, and went out of his way to help us and cater to us. By the way The Trolley Stop Cafe next door is wonderful and open 24 hours on the weekends. Very reasonable for the location and convenience of the trolley. Thanks for the good time again NOLA. « less

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights when we have been in the town for my daughter's admission at Tulane University. We were satisfied with the services of well-known hotels, which we have tried earlier. But, this time we selected Clarion Grand Boutique Hotel due to its great location. And, we found it perfect in every sense. Staff is excellent, food is great and rooms are well maintained. Highly recommendable! « less
