These are effectively self contained flats (UK term) where you have a bed/ sitting room adjacent to a kitchenette area with a bathroom (shower- bath combination). We had a double bed unit and it was definitely large enough. We specifically want a 'base' from which to visit the theme parks and area - but the room was comfortable enough that we ended up watching episodes of our favourite tv shows (Supernatural, Bones etc) before going out in the mornings. PROs - the staff were exceptionally helpful. When we informed them that we had a problem with the air con about 22:00 one evening, it was all fixed by our return from lunch the next day. They were always friendly, especially Adlin, who was on desk most of our time there. There are saftey deposit boxes at the front desk where you can leave your passport (if you're safety minded like we are) - but you need to ensure you don't lose the key they give you as it's the only one. Towels are changed every Saturday along with the room clean - but you can go down every day and exchange them at the Desk if you need to. For your own laundry of clothes etc there is a laundry room on the ground floor - as big as a smaller UK laundrette. It's accessible with your room card and also has two vending machines (with chocolate; drinks; biscuits etc!). CONs - Hmmm... not many really. The price is such good value for money that it's difficult to argue with. The Hotel is marked as a two star - but in English terms I'd definitely put it no lower than a three star. Maybe you could say that the furnishings could be updated (but you'd be picky for the price). Our room did carry cooking odours from previous tenants when we arrived - but we bought a couple of air fresheners for a dollar and the problem was solved. OVERALL: Very comfortable. Friendly. Safe walk to Universal Studios. Excellent Value for Money. VISITORS TIPS: There is a Walgreens close by (ask the desk staff) - this is like a UK Pharmacy only they sell quite a lot of drinks and snacks etc. Great for smaller items and, again, safe to walk to. Transport-wise, the I Ride Trolley Bus stops outside the Hotel (go online to the I Ride website and purchase your passes before you arrive. You'll get a print out to give your driver when you first use it and he/she will give you a Pass). That will take you onto International Drive, where there are a lot of minor attractions; plenty of places to eat (Dennys! We love you so much); and a Premium Outlet at each end where you can buy from big name brands at cut rate prices (go to Ross at the North end of I Drive - it's like T K Maxx only much much better). The I Ride is a big green bus with two lines - the Green Line (stops outside the hotel) and the Red Line. Both lines travel up and down International Drive, but they go down different roads at some points. Because they're both green - check the FRONT of the bus for the amber LED sign to see whether it's Green line or Red line ( http://www.iridetrolley.com/pdf/marker-map.pdf ). There is also a Lynx Bus stop outside the Hotel that will take you to Universal if you have difficulty walking or it's raining or you're just tired. Lynx 7 day passes are excellent value and can be obtained from the Visitors Centre on I Drive (stop 20 on the I Ride Red Line). If you're planning to go to Disney (we did both Universal and Disney), you'll need to get the I Ride from the Hotel onto International Drive (we always stopped off at Transfer Stop 7 round the corner to have breakfast at Denny's! Bacon Paradise! and then got back on) and then stay on until you get to Stop G13. This is outside the Renaissance Hotel and you change at this same stop to get on the Lynx number 50 to get to Disney. That'll take you to Downtown Disney (a shopping centre sort of place) and then finally on to the Disney Transportation Centre (long journey of about an hour ). « less

This Extended Stay America Hotel has beautiful rooms. They were large and well appointed. There were two beds, large closet, nice big bathroom, Great Televsion, Sofa and lamps, Kitchen with stove, refrigerator, sink, dish washer, table and chairs. Really very nice for a long stay when you are tired of restaurant food, or want to save money. Close to many shopping and dining areas within walking distance. The " I Ride " Trolley will take you just about anywhere, including the Theme parks, for low cost. « less

Silent rooms with complete kitchen (full size fridge) and all the gear to use it (pans, dishes, cutlery, cups, etc.). Considering this and the location (800m from Universal Studios gates), it's a great deal. Staff is really helpfull and friendly. The hotel receive packages if you buy something on line. The only thing I could mention as not so good is that the hotel is a little overdated, but nothing you can't deal with... It's like your grandmother's house... =) « less

The hotel was clean enough, I will have to give them that. Most of the people were friendly. I didn't realize that there was no maid service - you have to exchange your own towels & take out the trash and get toilet tissue. The worst part, was that the beds were like concrete! We left a day early because we couldn't sleep on them another day. The girl checking us out was a jerk about it. If you don't mind 'camping,' it's fine. They also put us in a smoking room & told us there weren't any other ones available, even though we never saw another person on our floor. « less

As well, I apologize that we didn't have any no smoking rooms available at the time of check-in. Unfortunately, it was due to our high occupancy. Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"This was much easier than looking for a hotel on your on, surfing the internet. Thanks for all you help!!!" M.H. - Tampa, FL
"I found your site very easy to use, and useful, and your staff helpful but not at all pushy. (I tried using another site that resulted in "sales" calls and won't use that site again. Conference planning is hectic/nutty enough without someone calling everyday to bug you! :-) Not only would I use you, but recommend you highly." L.F. - Berkeley, CA
