I love dogs, just not in my hotel, which we learned was 100 % pet friendly. We were wakened at 1am by a dog barking in a room down the hall and to his credit, the clerk said he'd call the offender. Just a very noisy hotel for some reason, with foul language filtering from a room as we walked by and doors opening and closing throughout the night. If I hadn't used my rewards for the room, I would have requested a room rate reduction- very little sleep. Highlight was the breakfast and the friendly lady hosting it. FYI- Road to hotel is very rough and needs major repair. « less

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Bucknell, which was about 7 minutes away. Great location, very comfy room, nice amenites including the old-fashioned heat lamp in the bathroom. The breakfast was bountiful, fresh eggs ( & hard boiled) , sausage, fresh oatmeal, cereals, great coffee, breads, bagels, fresh fruit, couldn't ask for more. ( except I wish they'd had peanut butter )The 1st morning we had to run the shower for about 10 minutes just to get it up to tepid - the next morning we had no hot water at all - not a pleasant way to start the day. :( When I mentioned it at checkout, the manager said it happens a few x a year as many folks tend to be showering at the same time! Yes, but I think hotels need to be prepared for that with a large enough hot water supply. He did discount our stay which I appreciated. Next time I will ask for a room very near the hot water heater!!! But otherwise, a great place to stay , will stay again if in the area. « less

This is an exceptional hotel for many reasons. From the first front desk lady who was just gracious and a complete blessing to me. To the Manager who was the sweetest I have EVER come in contact with. She went WAY out of her way for my family to get rooms during a difficult time in our lives. We were all staying due to a death in the family. Our rooms were all decorated with new linens, modern flat screen TV's and refrigerators with little freezers!!! The housekeeping department had the entire hotel completely spotless! I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel they are a beautiful staff who truly cares about their guests and their hotel! Thank you Comfort Inn New Columbia for all you did for us during a painful time in our lives. It was a ray of sunshine in the mist of a storm!!!!!!!!!! « less

Standard Comfort Inn room and standard quality level - but amenities in room superior. Room had a refrigerator and a microwave and also an in-room safe, which is first time I have found outside of a "suite" hotel. Those amenities plus better than average breakfast (all the standards plus scrambled eggs (NOT from a powdered egg product - from fresh eggs), fresh fruit, and the chipped beef and biscuits plus the game room and adjoining Bonanza Restaurant make this hotel an excellent value, particularly for families. Pool are is nice but is outside and was closed for season. There was a lounge area that clearly has beer on tap but it was closed - I did not ask if seasonal closure or permanent. Staff is very friendly and breakfast area is large and (as others have noted) well serviced.
We thought hotel might be new but then I notiiced the old fashioned infrared ceiling heat light with mechanical timer -- and believe it or not, the light and the timer still worked (nice to have, actually). Bottom line - clearly lot of upgrades in carpet and furniture, flat screen TVs, and overall maintenance have kept this property looking good.
This is a well run hotel and a good choice for an enroute stop-over. « less

It is nice to have such a personable staff. You really do not think you will get that at a Chain hotel but I gotta tell you I have yet to have a bad time no matter what town or state I am in. The Comfort Inn is one of the best! « less
