We like to stay at the Springhill Suites in Glen Allen when we go to the Nascar race at Richmond, we have stayed here several years now and we really love it. We just stayed there in April for he race, the staff is always friendly, they always greet you when you go in and out. We checked in on A wednesday evening and our room was ready and our request for a room near the elevator was granted ( room 218).My sister walks with a cane and we like to be near the elevator so we don't have to walk the whole hall.We don't like the first floor because the indoor pool has a strong chlorine smell which irritates my asthma, but the pool is nice and clean and well kept.The rooms are spacious, great beds, the lighting is good and the sink is outside the bathroom so it makes getting ready easier.There is a small kitchen area with a sink, refrigerator and microwave.The room is actually a suite with a sleeping area, a kitchen area and a sitting area. The rooms are done in greens and blues and are light and airy , some hotels use dark colors which make the room seem dark all the time. The free breakfast is great, there is a huge variety and the staff is always there refilling stuff and checking to see you have what you need. We enjoy staying here and it is only 8 miles to the race track so it is convienent too.We look forward to staying there every year. « less

Great hotel, great location! We stayed here this past Saturday night after visiting Kings Dominion. If you are traveling south of Kings Dominion or would like to stay near KD this is a great place to stay. It’s close enough but far enough to not have to pay the up charge on food. There are tons of places to eat near by as well as things to do.
This hotel offers an indoor pool it was kind of small my kids kept running down there to check to see if they could swim but never got to because there was always a lot of people in there. They have hot coffee in the lobby all the time and the room we had gave us a couch that pulled out two beds and a kitchenette that had a sink, microwave and refrigerator. The room was spotless!!! I even thought of taking a long bath the tub was so clean. The only down thing was the beds seemed small. Granted it was a double bed. I would stay again however. « less

Though the hotel had a convenient location, clean rooms/bathrooms, and friendly staff, there were a lot of negatives.
1. Don't sleep on the pull out bed - they are very uncomfortable and left a member of our party sore the next day.
2. Breakfast - there were a TON of negatives here. There isn't enough seating in the breakfast area for the number of people that stay in this hotel on a weekend. Also, there was a shortage of food. We were left waiting for additional hot food to come out and when it did, they only brought out a small amount. Considering the number of people in the breakfast area, that was shocking. The food that WAS available wasn't very healthy (donuts, sugary cereal, shortage of fruit, nearly NO yogurt). The coffee was also incredibly watery.
3. Understaffed - There was only one poor woman (who was doing her best) working in the breakfast area. She had to not only cook food, but keep up with the spills and overflowing trash bin. The staff shortage was noted in the pool area as well. While the pool area and pool were clean, there were never enough towels present. Even after calling the front desk from the pool area, it took over 30 minutes to get the towels to the pool, and they only brought four.
I was immensely disappointed by my experience at this hotel. « less

This hotel was no exception - great service, clean & comfortable room, free breakfast. Price as very solid at under $100 for this Thursday night.
Very close to I-95 but not close enough to hear the noise. Good choice. « less
