Ihad never stayed with Red Roof Inn before and wasn't expecting anything great. This hotel was very nice and seemed quite new. I picked it because of the convenient location for where I needed to go in the area. It is right off of I-26, but down at the end of a lane (Mitchelle Drive) and didn't seem like it was right by the highway. A short walk across the parking lot is an Outback Steakhouse. A gas station and convenience store is located down the lane. It is conveniently located for a very short drive into Hendersonville and Flat Rock and about a half hour south of Asheville. Lake Lure is also not too far. The hotel is modern and offers a continental breakfast by the lobby in the morning. There was no coffee maker in the room so I'm glad I chose a room on the first floor because all I had to do was go down the hall for coffee in the lobby. The light breakfast offerings included cereal, oatmeal, breads for toasting, and waffles as well as juice and your coffee. My room was very clean and looked and smelled new and it had a flat-screen TV set with lots of channels. The staff at the front desk were friendly and efficient- very nice people. Although I chose this hotel for its location mainly, it also happened to be one of the greatest values in town too. I would definitely stay here again.....oh, and if you are traveling with your dog, it is also pet friendly. « less

I recently stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Hendersonville, and I would have to disagree with the negative posters on this hotel. The price is right, the bed was plenty comfortable, the room was clean. What more could you ask for at the price point? Yes, it hasn't seen a renovation since it opened in 2002, but the desk clerk said one was coming this year. Also, the breakfast was almost non existent, but Red Roof Inns aren't required to have one (we just ate at the Bojangles across Hwy 64, near the inn). If they just added a few items to the breakfast (bagels and cereal, not a full breakfast) and had coffeemakers in the rooms, I would have probably given them 5 dots. The staff is plenty friendly, and accommodated my request to be upstairs (another plus, this 2-story hotel has an elevator, something you just don't find in 2-story hotels). All in all, a great stay!

We were on our way to Michigan from Florida and had booked one night at the Red Roof Hendersonville. We developed car trouble and had to extend the stay for two nights. The front desk staff person was very helpful and the room was very clean and roomy. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. I seem to be running into more rooms with smallish, hard pillows, but not here. The motel is situtated at the end of a cul de sac, but is convenient to the interstate and also has an Outback about 100 yards away. There are other restaurants within half a mile. It is also an excellent location for dogs if you travel with your pet. The breadkfast is a bit skimpy, but many Red Roof Inns don't provide any breakfast. We will stay here again. « less

The front desk clerk was friendly--he's been there since we've been going there. Check in & checkout was a breeze.
But the room was very tired looking. There was a dent in the side table, the tub had a hole in the outer shell, and being short, the sink & mirror were a bit tall for me.
It does make a good base for Flat Rock & the Carl Sandburg house & the shopping is great downtown. There's also an Outback Steakhouse within walking distance. « less
