I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions when traveling for business. I have had excellent service starting with the shuttle driver who arrived at the airport before I arrived so I would not have to wait for a ride to the hotel to the registration staff who were prompt, had my room ready and were waiting with a warm cookie. The rooms are spacious with refrigerators, a separate living area and a large spa tub in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet is extensive and delicious. On my last stay I checked in at the same time a gentleman from England was checking in. His praise was effusive about the friendliness of the staff, the prompt check-in process and was delighted with the warm cookie. He had been in the states on business for several weeks and said this was the friendliest place he had stayed and would be sure to return. « less

I come often for horse racing season and usually prefer Lexington as opposed to the fuss of Louisville particularly if it's the years I do the Kentucky Derby. The hotel was fantastic. I usually stay at the Hilton Suites but I will be here from now on. Great front desk staff and beautiful hotel and layout of room. The only negative was when coming down for breakfast it seemed a lot of tables hadn't been bussed which made for a messy look and feel to the breakfast area. « less

I've stayed at five different hotels in the area (I come for work) and my search has stopped. The atmosphere at the Double Tree is outstanding, and that starts with the staff. They are extremely accommodating, helpful and provide service with a smile (just nice people). One week they were booked and they set up accommodations for me at a nearby hotel. They also noticed I tend to run late in the morning, so they have a 'to go' breakfast container ready for me. I am made to feel special everytime I visit. The hotel has a New Orleans/Cagin flavor. The rooms have little balcony's that over look a beautiful courtyard with fountain. It feels like a little park with outdoor cafe seating. The hallways have New Orleans style lantern type lights and wrought iron. It's really nice. There is a nice little bar, good resturant and food and of course my favorite cookies. There is an outdoor pool (haven't tried it yet) and a workout room with treadmills, bike, eliptical and free weight dumb bells. The rooms are spacious (containing a living area with tv and desk along with a mini fridge). You can cut off the bedroom (also has a tv) from the living space if you want. The bathroom is a good size and has a huge jaquzzi tub with shower. The hotel and rooms are well maintained and very clean and I sleep great. I look forward to my stays here. The place just has a great vibe and I'm happy here. « less
