Quick trip to Adelaide for a Mothers day weekend. This hotel is in such a great location. 5 minute walk to Rundle Mall and in the other direction to an array of restaurants etc. We had a studio room that was very well equipped. Only downside was the quality of the pillows even though the bed was really comfortable. Nothing as far as a view but this was not an issue as we were hardly in the room. We caught a cab from the airport which was a little slow due to road constructions etc. On our walkabouts we discovered that just left out of the hotel into Grenfell Street about a 2 minute walk you can get a J1 bus that takes you to airport in under 30 minutes. Much cheaper at $4.90 per person and a comfortable ride to get us back there for departure. The Staff are a real credit to the hotel and check in and out was effortless. The restaurant downstairs looked nice but the menu was a little limited and quite pricey so we took a walk and found a bevy of places to eat just a 10 minute walk. The room service menu was actually better and we found it to be more reasonably priced. We took advantage of this after a really full day of sightseeing on the second day and it was pretty good. There are so many restaurants a stones throw away so you will not have a problem with other options. Due to its locality and friendly service, I will have no hesitation in recommending a stay here and will certainly choose it again when next in Adelaide. « less

I use the Mantra Hindmarsh Square whenever I'm in Adelaide on business, which is two or three times a year for varying durations. I find the hotel ideal for what I need.
It's centrally located but not right in the middle of town, so a short walk might be needed to get you to your favourite restaurant, but it will only be a short stroll. Rundle Mall is a couple of minutes away and there's certainly plenty of handy choices for those who want to eat out.
The rooms are good - room to spread out and, in a city that can get damned hot in summer, surprisingly cool most of the time. Aircon obviously helps, but you might expect the room temperature to be a bit higher than it actually is. The bedrooms, set back in the central part of the units, are invariably comfortable at night.
The staff are helpful and efficient, which is always nice, and do a good job. Things are done in a timely fashion and with a minimum of fuss.
There's plenty of car parking available, so it's not the problem it can be at some central city hotels.
Any regular traveller will tell you they have some places where sleep can be hard to come by and others where it's like being in your own home, and this hotel is in the latter category for me. I know it won't be the same for everyone, but I sleep like the dead here. And I do like the coffee served at the bar downstairs - just right (a personal thing again, I know) and well priced.
I have no problems recommending the hotel, and I will definitely be back next time I'm in town. « less

Stayed in a Parkview suite for the second time recently. Room was nicely appointed. Intended to use the small kitchenette to cook some evening meals. That did not work very well. The two benchtop cookers did not heat enough to do anything but broil meat in the pan. An anticipated steak dinner was a wash. Went downstairs to advise there was an issue and was told that the kitchenette was not intended to be used by anyone wanting to cook a meal, and that I should have booked into the Mantra on Frome if I wanted cooking facilities!! Amazing answer. And I won't mention the very ineffective dishwasher, with some dirty dishes from previous occupants of the room; I hope they enjoyed their scrambled eggs. During a week stay, had to ring about the room servicing twice; once to get towels replaced so we all could shower and later to get toilet paper, as a back up roll was not provided. Purchased the breakfast package; not impressed for the cost. "Hot" food was cold and bacon was better described as "Pork Jerky". Within a couple of days, we were taking turns with the two breakfasts included in the package; and then sticking to toast most times. A let down overall from the previous stay and would not use this accommodation again; might try the Mantra on Frome as suggested next time. Will say that the staff in both the restaurant for dinner and the bar kiosk were lovely and very friendly. Not quite up to the same level for the morning breakfast staff. « less

I stayed here for three nights recently. It is very comfortable. I had a two bedroom apartment which wasn't really necessary as I was on my own but I had a lovely park view. I love the spacious apartment which has everything you need. The location was perfect for an appointment in Pulteney Street and also convenient for shopping in the Rundle Mall. When I had loads of bags I could return to the hotel, dump the bags and head off for another lot of shopping!! Perfect. « less

I have stayed at the Mantra in Hindmarsh Square several times now, and always the same impression. It is a good travellers hotel, not badly located though others are a little more central. I always find the check in good, even if it is just a little 'functional' rather than 'friendly', and the downstairs bar and restaurant is very convenient. The rooms have everything but the linear style with a single corridor containing bathroom, bedroom and lounge area in succession is again 'funtional' more than 'friendly'. For all that however there is nothing really missing in this hotel and if you can secure a good rate then it is a good stay. « less
