Opened in the spring of 2006, the Candlewood Suites Polaris is conveniently located across from Polaris Fashion Place with easy access to freeways, OSU, the Columbus Convention Center and downtown. In town for work at nearby Anheuser-Busch brewery and stayed here. Check-in went well with the clerk being friendly and efficient. Not a big fan of Candlewood Suites in general but this one is OK. The area is very nice with lots of restaurants, stores, and a movie theater nearby. The room itself was nice enough with a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. The tub did not drain well which seems to be a common theme in hotels I stay at. « less

The non-English speaking housekeepers snooped through my dresser every week, I left a small piece of paper in there to confirm and every week I could tell they had gone through all the drawers. There were 5 cars who had their windows smashed and were burglarized on 4 separate occasions and only after the last one did they put up a notice on the bulletin board stating that "The Polaris area has seen a rash of burglaries...." The rooms are very loud and the housekeeping once a week is terrible but the price is ok so.... I am for here 90 days. « less

Requested in advance a room with no fragrance because of allergies. Had to try 3 rooms before finding one that worked. The first night they were doing construction in the adjacent room until 9 pm. The toilet kept stopping up with no load and then overflowed. Manager supposedly had it fixed but didn't bother to have it mopped. Continued to stop up. Staff generally acted like we were an interruption and did not greet us in a friendly manner. Very disappointing experience. « less

I had a great time staying here. The location is nice, it's near other hotels and dining and shopping places. An easy access from Worthington. There are a lot of restaurant nearby. The room is nice and clean. Although it's a small motel/hotel, it's nicer than other small hotels. I stayed here for a business trip and it's worth the money. The internet was fast, bathroom was clean. aircon and heater was working perfectly well. the beddings are clean, the whole room was clean. they have popcorn in the microwave that they replace every day. room's got a big fridge and a stove and microwave. their soap and shampoo are nicer than what other small hotel/motel gives. « less

I'm always pleased with my stays at various Candlewood Suites so I'm a surprised by my unhappiness with this one. Plusses are the indoor pool, the myriad of things to do/see in the area, & the hotel is always clean. I compliment this chain on the excellent sleep I get & the friendliness of the staff. Not so here. The mattress is a standard mattress, not the pillow top full of comfort I've come to expect and the bedding has seen better days. It's very noisy here. Housekeeping staff are friendly but loud, which is not good for someone who works nights and sleeps days. Doors and cabinets are constantly slamming. Sounds travel well through these walls. A couple of times I've had to ask desk staff for assistance and was treated like an annoyance. No friendly smiles from the men who work here and one is actually rude. I stay at these hotels for months at a time so, every couple of weeks near payday, I charge off what I've gotten from the Cupboard. I noticed when I looked at my bank statement that this location charges your card at random without letting you know. Candlewood Suites will still be my hotel of choice, just not his location. « less
