Comments: After a little research I booked this hotel and happy to say got just what I expected. Booked flights separately, once we arrived in Rhodes walked outside to be met by plenty of taxi's, there is a board next to the taxi rank stating what the cost to each resort is 47euros to Kiatori (it is one of the furthest resorts from the airport) and the ride takes approx 1 hour.
Reception is a little confusing as 2 hotels ran by the same company (blue Bay resorts) opposite each other on a private road. Miraluna's reception is up the steps - Kiatori Bay has only 3 steps. We arrived at 11:30pm check is was fast we where given a map of the complex and told where our room was, the receptionist advised us that the snack bar/bar was open until midnight so if we hurried we could grab a snack and drink. The complex is very hilly, we had paid extra to have a private/shared pool and were located a good walk away from the hotel. Half way up the hill a guy in a golf buggy stopped told us to jump on with our bags and took us up the hill. This is my only complaint - for a 5 star hotel the finishing touch would be a bell boy to carry your bags after a long journey.
Left the bags in our room and set off in search of the bar, had a snack and a couple of drinks (OK I needed Tea and that's what I got, my partner needed beer and he was happy). Our room large and spotless, there was decking outside the patio doors and a pool which we shared by 6 other rooms. There are rooms which do have a small private pool but think these where family units. Mixed nationality at the hotel but we all got along.
The food was fantastic, sorry but if you want chips, burgers, steak then go to a commercial resort (Mini England). Lots of local dishes, carvery, lamb/pork chops, salad's you name it we had it. The snack bar opens at 10am for late breakfasts changing to lunch at 1pm. Not as much choice because of the size but always plenty to choose from, there is a toasty maker and ice cream available 10am till close at 12pm. Help your self drinks, beer, wine, fruit juice, fizzy pop, hot chocolate, coffees, spirits where served by the waiter. What more do you want (another bar in the main hotel and the use of bars across at Kiotari bay).
The beach is pebble and yes beach shoes are needed, its worth the pain as the sea is so warm. We took a trip on the glass bottom boat to Lindos and a couple of other bays 20euro's each for 2 hours. The boat picks you up on the beach and is well worth the money, the guy who drives the boat gives you lots of information along the way, even stops off for 15mins so you can have a dip in the sea.
Local bus stops right outside the hotel and takes you almost anywhere on the island you could want to go to, Rhodes town 5euros 40cents each way. Rhodes old town is a must. Holiday was end of Sept came back 5 Oct and the weather was HOT 112 in the shade some days.
Hope this helps you if undecided on this hotel, We would def go back again. For Greece we would quite happily see this hotel as a 4-5 star. « less

I went to the Kiotari Bay Hotel in October 2006 with my partner and four-year old daughter. The hotel is very clean and well kept. We stayed in the Bay part of the hotel and it is true that there are two sections to the hotel, the second being the Miraluna which is on the sides of the road going down to the main hotel reception and in our opinion we would not liked to have stayed in this part as there appeared to be little or no atmosphere and never saw anybody enjoying themselves in the pool.
We had bad weather for three days out of seven but it was near the very end of the season. We still had a good time. We enjoyed the buffet restaurant but would have liked choice of a couple more restaurants as we could understand that in high season the restaurant would be too crowded and not sufficient for the number of guests.
The children's club was great as was the mini disco at night for our daughter. The pool was very nice but very cold. The beach was nice, the water very clear but it was quite hard to walk on as comprised of mainly pebbles and shingle.
One main disappointment was that we had to share our balcony with the next door room which was not too much of a problem as we did not spend much time in the room.
The hotel did not compare as well to other hotels or resorts that I have stayed in the past but had the weather been better I may have given a better score.
when we were staying there were a lot of Brits complaining but mainly because they could not have burger and chips all the time and we found them extremely irritating and a lot of the bad reviews for this hotel will be from whingers like these and are completely unfounded.
we would go back for a quick break but we do prefer a better location as it is very remote. « less

If you have booked to go to the Kiotari Bay, please take my advise if you have time and change your holiday. This is the biggest waste of money. My family (2 adults and kids aged 7, 6 and 1)and i booked our holiday through first choice and boy what a mistake we made! 4* i've stayed in better 2*! On arrival we were given our key and spent the next 20 minutes in the baking sun trying to find our room. With 4 suitcases, a baby in a pushchair and 2 tired and hungry children. When we eventually found our room, we were disgusted, the lock to the door was actually broken and with a hard push the door would open. The front of the airconditoning unit was hanging off. The double bed was infact 2 singles pushed together but made up as single beds. There was a wardrobe with 6 hangers and 2 drawers for all our clothes. There were not enough pillows so the maid had rolled up a blanket and put it where a pillow should be. The lounge had been turned into a bedroom with a campbed and travel cot and a sofa had the cushions removed. Opon further inspection the camp bed was covered in dried vomit and both had stains on that i wouldn't like to even consider what they were. The bathroom was a single sink, and shower over a bath, ot good when there are 5 of you to get washed etc. Oh but the mould was complimentary, and plenty of it! The window in the bathroom was broken. Oh airconditioning - available in 1 room only, the lounge come kids sleeping area resembles more of a green house, not ideal if your child had asthma. The sandy beach was actually grit, gravel and rocks. Although the jet ski was a hit with my 7yr old. Food was good from wednesday til saturday and then was vile. Don't pay for your kids to have early suppers with the kids club, they were allowed 1 fish finger and chips, which when you've paid all inclusive for them as well seems ridiculous. If you want a sunbed get up early, usually they were gone by 6am. Drinks were good, very strong hi to (Nick lous at the pool bar) which along with the sunshine made the holiday bearable. The animaton team would come out and dance to the same 3 songs before and after lunch other than that they were useless and as for evening entertainment thankfullyi packed a deck of playing cards! Thank god we only went for week, we were packed ready to return on the tuesday morning and literally clock watched til we left wednesday. Do not spend your money coming here it was awful! « less

I stayed at this resort with my family last year and had a brilliant time, hence our return this year. There were also families from last year who had returned. The main reason we chose to go back was the Animation team, who sadly were no longer at this resort, although the 2 brothers did pay a flying visit on their day off, which was brilliant. I was really annoyed that people from the Miraluna could come down and use our sunbeds and restuarant, yet we could not use theirs. In the evening we could not get a table for dinner, so we gave up and went off the resort, not happy when we had paid all inclusive. The animation team appeared to vanish of the face of the earth, so we had no animation during the day. The evening shows were a waste of time, so we gave up going. On the plus side we met some lovely people who we shall keep in touch with and the guys who run the water sports are fantastic. Will not return to this resort or recommend to any friends, which is a shame because we had such good memories from last year. « less
