I have mostly stayed at the Star Lodge hotel---but that place has gotten so run down---door knobs falling off, none of the lights working etc, so this place was a pleasant improvement. I was surprised how quiet it was, even with all the traffic so near. The staff was very helpful. I would stay here again. « less

I left to leave i came back 15mins later after the maid just cleaned our room for the next guest, when i asked to talk to the maid about my ring that was sittin on the nightstand where i accidently left it, the manager wouldnt do nothing about it!! The manager was very rude as well please dont stay there. There are pimps and prostitutes there at night always!! They also charge for the ice machine. Be warned!!!!!!! « less

Rooms were clean and roomy and the staff friendly. Located in downtown area of San Bernardino. There was construction on the Interstate nearby. Parking lot large and easily accessed from the street. They provided continental breakfast earlier than usual because of our plans. Supermarket on the back side of the block behind the hotel - very convenient for getting food for our travel group. However, there were electrical problems. Overhead lights and wall sockets were wired together. When you turned off the ceiling lights, anything plugged into the wall socket went dead too. Had to unscrew the light bulb and keep the switch on in order to keep our clock running. The wireless connection was too weak for either my Mac laptop or a member of our group's iPad. Wireless connection would start up but then immediately be dropped. Staff was unable to solve that problem. Outside lights kept turning off when we were packing to leave at dawn. « less

After driving 300 miles on a very hot day, my husband and I pulled into this flop house's parking lot (not easy with the maximum security chain link fences surrounding it) and immediately thought (hoped) there was some mistake . . . this could NOT be the place I'd chosen to spend a night in!?! Unfortunately, we found out it was when the desk clerk (whose flat affect only added to our feelings of dread) confirmed our fears. She handed us the room card-key, along with the TV remote (which they don't leave in the rooms, apparently because their typical clientele like to spend $80 to stay here just to steal a $5 TV remote -- ohhhh-kaayyyy!). We walked up the rickety stairs and walked in to the room . . . and after about 30 seconds of stunned silence (while trying to hold our breath), turned right around and walked back out, gave the desk zombie the key and remote, and drove on another 100 miles just to get as far away as we could. I don't think anything more can be said. Just please, please don't even THINK about staying here. This motel is ugly, dirty, smelly, scary, and in a creepy neighborhood. There is NOTHING positive to say about it. The. End. « less
