Superlatives run out. The place the setting the management and staff all get a "10". Truly wonderful. Everything is just so. Not at all ostentatious. The reef ouzes (in a very modest way of course) class. Not in a pejoritive sense bit in a genuine unassuming way. The O'Hara family clearly has a firm managerial hand on the tiller and it shows. As with any business it's always reassuring to see the owners about the place. Keep it up Team C R. Simply the nicest hotel I've ever had the pleasure to stay.Very best wishes and thanks all for a super holiday. Kevin Morgan. « less

We have returned to the Coral Reef after a few years! Only because we tried renting villas instead! We were not disappointed at all! The O' Hara family are still giving the most personal service that you could ever hope for. We were met by them when we arrived and the welcome rum punch gets you totally in the Bajan spirit! We stayed for two weeks and did not want to go home! The restaurant totally excels in the service and choice of both wines and food. The people who looked after us that stood out were Owen, Rodney and Junior! Every night there is local entertainment, our favourite is a Wednesday night which is a local/ Canadian family band. All 60/ 70's music! Every night has a completely different band or singer to cater for everyone! We will be back!!!!! « less

Lovely small hotel, staff extremely friendly and food excellent. The beach is rather small but never the less always seemed to be ample loungers for everyone. The main pool is lovely, very quiet and the warmest water we have encountered in a pool. They are currently building a board walk along the sea front to the side of the hotel which will eventually go to Holetown. Will be a lovely walk/bike ride when completed. Was slightly noisy for the first few days of our holiday as the machinery was breaking up huge boulders. There is twentyfour hour room service but it would have been nice to have coffee/tea making facilities in the room. Overall a great holiday especially for couples (of any age) and providing you want a relaxing break, no loud music and pool side activities etc. would certainly recommend. « less

Just returned from a fabulous 2 weeks in Barbados staying @ the Coral Reef Club. We'd heard so much about this family run hotel and having tried nearly every other hotel in St. James's, we thought we might as well give it a try. Everything a family run hotel should be, warm, friendly, experienced staff and management who make you feel welcome. The food was excellent, with the BBQ being a huge hit not only with the hotel residents but the other neighbouring hotels residents too. Our superior junior suite was large & airy with an excellent balcony overlooking the pool & garden, most importantly the chez lounge on our balcony were seriously comfortable. The bathrooms were again very large with double hand basins, shower big enough for two and a semi circular bath, oodles of room for all our stuff. My only gripe was the shower head needed descaling and the pressure of the water could have been stronger(it might be that the scale build up caused the lack of pressure?). No doubt my husband & I will become one of hundreds of return guests, many of which we met at the O'Hara's cocktail party.. « less

The family seems to have its best times here. Twin boys (8 years old tomorrow) my wife and I. The boys spent their first birthday here, after we had won a weeks stay in a raffle. We came back to spend their 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and this year 8th birthdays. The staff are friendly, kind and attentive. The food in the restaurant is great and there are other fine restaurants with 5-15 mins ride from the resort. The resort itself is secluded, quiet, and restful. Individual villas are surrounded by exotic gardens. There are swimming pools on the property and, of course, instant access to the beach. A watersports team provides trips to swim with sea turtles and see the fish on the nearby coral reefs. A newly equipped gym includes a full set of weights, aerobic machines, and weightlifting machines.
What do we do here? As little as possible, really. The most difficult decision is "beach or pool?" Maybe we have one too many glasses of rum punch, after the kuds have gone to bed. « less
